“Really excellent airport hotel”
Reviewed 19 May 2012

This hotel is extremely good as an airport hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient and all communications are fast and polite. The room is very clean, large and well equipped and the main foyer is spacious and well designed. They provide a free airport shuttle that is efficient and well organised and the driver is particularly friendly and helpful. The only small negatives are no flat screen tv or many English channels and the breakfast is expensive at 18 euros. Not suitable for seeing Madrid but great for an airport stopover. The staff make this hotel.

Silken is in a beautiful clean neighborhood. Really nice fancy rooms. The major downside is that it is quite a walk from the subway station, about a mile. If going in august, many families go on vacation and many stores will be closed. Continental breakfast Here is really good.

Good clean hotel, convenient for airport, efficent shuttle service. Comfortable rooms with friendly staff. Don`t bother booking Club room as only difference is a bath robe and cookies!

Room Tip: Club room the same as standard room apart from a bath robe and cookies!

I stayed here only one night for a business meeting and found the hotel to be very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and my room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The room was also quiet and the drapes kept the outside light out, too. The bathroom was functional and the water hot.
The hotel isn't too far from the airport, but it isn't close to the centre of town at all. A taxi ride was about 13 euro.
Breakfast was pretty average for this vegetarian, but if you like eating various pig products you may enjoy it more!

Spotlessly clean with very good sized rooms / bathrooms. The air con' appears to be turned off in the winter so quite stuffy / hot in the rooms (a major road outside so opening the window not an option). Hot water somewhat inconsistent ie on some days there isn't any. When I mentioned this to the team on reception it was greeted by a shrug of the shoulders. Not great service for what claims to be a 4 Star hotel! A very good breakfast with both hot & cold food. A flash restaurant with a poor menu so often empty. Bar snacks available but, once again, a very poor choice of menu. The fact that the evening food's not good is a major issue as the hotel's not close to other eating / drinking options. All a cab ride away. Whilst fully appreciating that I'm a visitor to a foreign land, not to have at least one English speaking channel amongst the twenty or so available on the room TV's is a bit frustrating. Nothing can be done about the location but with a few simple tweaks / focus from the management this could be a very, very good hotel.

Room Tip: I've stayed a few times (close to our office) & the rooms have always been of a consistent s...

Nothing negative to report.....which is fantastic. It is a long way into the city center via bus/metro, but it was convenient for my business meetings. If you are need to stay near here, a good option. If you are a tourist, stay closer to the city center if you can.
