As a seasoned traveler it is the first time I found a room (Small) that had everything I needed and cost only Euro 60.00 for a night. The room had a desk, comfortable bed and a shower with warm water & good pressure. Internet is FREE. What else does one need from a good outfit. Keep it up you deserve the good ratings.

Room Tip: Just off RED metro line which is easy to get to from PINK airport metro

As with real estate, for a big city hotel, it's all about location, and the Regina can't be beat in that category--right opposite the Sevilla Metro stop and a block from the Plaza del Sol. Major museums, lots of restaurants, etc are an easy walk. We stayed there at the beginning and end of a Spain vacation. For our first 4-night stay we had a nice outside room, while at the end (only one night) we were on the interior--less desirable. The service was top notch, rooms were clean, though a bit small by American standards (typical of European hotels). The shower was perhaps the best I've ever experienced. The carpet on the stairs was a bit worn and due for replacement.
For our first stay we booked on-line, and this was pricier than the later room that we booked in person. It is probably worth a phone call to book with a real person. (The staff speak excellent English, but were willing to put up with our pretty basic Spanish.)
For breakfast, I recommend the coffee shop next door over the one in the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location in Madrid. Metro station right outside makes for a great spot to see the sites from. The room was very small but well appointed and spotlessly clean. The A/C was a little stuffy at night but liveable. The staff were great! Very helpful with maps, directions, taxi's etc. The lobby bar and breakfast area a great. The coffee, beer/wine prices are very good. I can't say about the restaurant as we didn';t eat there but there semed to be quite a few who did so I wold say it is o.k. I would stay here again when visiting Madrid.

We stayed for 7 nights and this proved to be a great location for our visit to Madrid. Adjacent to the Sevilla Metro station, it's easy to take the train to and from the airport. The location is very central, with an easy walk to all major attractions and restaurants.

The service at the front desk was always very good - be it checking in, asking for advice, or booking tours - they were always pleasant. We initially checked into a Superior room, which was very small and fully renovated. We had recurring problems with Internet access and subsequently moved to a Terrace room. It was impeccably clean and had been partially updated: a spacious bedroom and bathroom, laminate hardwood floors, contemporary furnishings, a king size bed, and a large rooftop terrace. The double paned windows were great at cutting out the street noise, which is unavoidable. The buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant was OK, but not great value. The food in the hotel cafe was better value, the service was excellent, and when ordering wine or beer you always receive complimentary tapas.

Definitely a great pick for your stay in Madrid.

We stayed here on a 4 night city break in Madrid. We booked an superior room via Expedia and on our first night spent it in a rather hot and tiny room within the hotel. Whilst the room was spotless and nicely decorated it soon became unbearable as it is built inside of the exterior of the hotel and there are no windows to open which let in any air. We were told that A/C was not available as it as too early in the season. The hotel promised to move us to another room the next morning - which they did. We ended up in a larger superior room which had double windows and a balcony which meant we were able to have fresh air and natural daylight - hooray! The staff were very accommodating about us moving rooms.
The hotel is situated in near the Puerto de Sol, Plaza Mayor and Royal Palace and close to lots of shops, restaurants and bars.
We had a few drinks in the cafe adjoining the hotel and found the staff to be both quick and helpful. As our flight was a late on we asked to keep the room until 6pm and the hotel staff accommodated our wish and only charged 18 euros which we considered to be very reasonable

Room Tip: Chose rooms which have windows which open outside of the hotel

First of all, thank you very much to all the staff of the Hotel Regina, Madrid. We have just returned from a lovely weekend with family in Madrid and the staff of the hotel undoubtedly contributed to our enjoyment. The hotel is in a perfect location, rooms are absolutely spotless and decorated very attractively. The lobby is light and comfortable and the dining room serves more than acceptable food.We too had a problem with the heat in one of our rooms but the staff had no hesitation whatsoever in changing us to a cooler room. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would like to emphasize the excellent service of the staff. Looking forward to returning!

While traveling around Spain, 6 of us (3 couples) decided to stay two nights at the Hotel Regina. The hotel was very easy to find via our GPS. Once there, we were greeted with smiles and put into very nice rooms. The only problem that we had was that the A/C was not available yet (too early in the season) and our room was very warm. They moved us the next day to an outside room that was great and apologized several times to us during our stay. The rooms are very updated and wonderful. The hotel is conveniently located near many excellent restaurants, the city tour bus and shopping. The only downside to the Hotel is that the WiFi doesn't work too well in the rooms.
