We got a discount price and were very pleased with the great value we got. The room was nicely decorated. Cleanliness standards are excellent. We loved the quality and variety of the breakfast buffet at an extra cost.
It is centrally located and within walking distance to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Museo del Prado, Museo Thyssen Bornemisza, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Palacio Real, la Gran Via, etc. etc.
Although the hotel is located on a busy street, the room at the back of the hotel was very quiet.
We would definitely return to this hotel on our next trip to Madrid.

Room Tip: Our room was in the back and of the hotel and very quiet.

I had a two day layover in Madrid coming from Tenerife. I chose this hotel because the rooms were on sale. I normally don't choose hotels because I prefer flats or suburban areas stays. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
It took about forty-five minutes on the metro from the aeroport to the Sevilla station. Hotel Regina is literally ten steps from the exit of Sevilla. It is in the middle of Madrid, close to all the major sites such as the Royal Palace and the Prado.
Check-in was smooth and simple, used a mix of Spanish and English. My room was in the back of the hotel and it was so quiet. I think I saw three guests over the course of my stay in the hallways. However, the cafe was always busy! There is a sandwich restaurant next story which serves gourmet offerings.
The room was awesome. WiFi was fast! The only thing that might be uncomfortable for people is there was no door to the WC, only a wall separating everything from the room. However, the cleanliness and roominess definitely negated that caveat.
I would look forward staying here again when I have a short stay in Madrid. Location, price, staff, and value were unparalleled.

Very good service, excellent breakfast and the location is outstanding. I've stayed two different occasions for a total of 6 nights. Walking to major shopping, Puerta del Sol and the Palace is within 10 minutes. The hotel is about mid way between the Palace and the Prado.

Internet is not consistent, but workable. Currency exchange rate offered by the hotel was very competitive with local banks, and better than exchange bureau.

The price, in view of the strengths is what makes this a very good place to stay. When I return to Madrid I will stay at the Regina.

Lovely helpful staff, beautiful spacious room with extremely comfortable large beds, fully modernised inside, excellent location - walkable distance to nearly everywhere. Despite back room the revelling crowds were a little noisy - but it was the weekend of the Atletico v. Real cup final!
Our room was ready and available on arrival at 11.30 am.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are less noisy

We took notice of the room tips of previous reviewers and up graded to a larger room and if our room was larger then we can only imagine what a Standard room must be like! Ours was Snug, comfortable, but no room for an armchair and spotlessly clean. Staff on arrival were all helpful and efficient taking time to warn us of the prevalence of pick pockets etc. The hotel was well placed for us to walk to the Prado, the Palace etc.We didn't try the hotel breakfast but instead walked out of the Hotel and turned left. Two doors down is a wonderful and popular place called " Coffee and Salads" that served freshly sqeezed orange, great coffee and delicious pastries (Apricot etc)for a great price. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Hotel.
