We had a three bed room that met our expectations. The bathroom was bigger and nicer than expected.
Our room was facing towards the backside which you pretty soon realise is an advantage if you want less noise, since the location of the hotel is next to the big square Puerta del Sol. Otherwise the location offers you shopping, restaurants and interesting places to visit on walking distance. Underground and citytour buses are just a minute away.

If you want to enjoy a nice, big, long breakfast in a quiet environment you're better off somewhere else. Having said that this was the only downside we found. Everything else was really good!

Perfect location, helpful staff, immaculate. Amazingly quiet considering it was so close to the Plaza. Easy walk to the metro station, restaurants and sights. We couldn't have been more pleased. Didn't have breakfast.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days. Everything about the hotel was great, starting with the e-mails I received from them before we arrived acknowledging our later arrival to the hotel. All hotel staff we interacted with were courteous and helpful. The room was very clean with an exceptional bathroom. The bedroom furniture is simple, but met our needs just fine. Our window faced the side street and was noisy when open but very quite when closed. The attached restaurant was a great place for breakfast and coffee. And the location is excellent for exploring the city of Madrid. Easy walking distance to the Royal Palace, the Prado and Reina Sofia Museums, and Retiro Park. You're also very close to the Metro and bus stations for day trips like Toledo (metro to Atocha station and then bought our tickets for the train to Toledo). You can't go wrong staying here.

We started our trip to Spain, at Hotel Europa, after 28 hours awake and flying. What a great place to recuperate. We traveled extensively in Spain: San Sebastián, Leon, Sarria, Santiago, Finisterre,
Pointevedra, Seville, Tarifa, Tangier, Gibralter, Ronda, Granada, Toledo and back to Madrid.
Whew! Back to Hotel Europa. What a great place to recuperate!

Room Tip: Rooms with a view are sufficiently quiet when drapes are drawn and windows closed. We were on floor...

Great hotel - well situated for all the major tourist sites that Madrid has to offer. Easy to get to by Metro from the airport. Clean, well maintained rooms and courteous and friendly staff. Wouldn't recommend the breakfast though - somewhat sparse and repetitive, even by continental standards. There are plenty of eateries within walking distance, offering much better value and variety. The rooms overlooking the Puerto Del Sol, the main square, have balconies that offer a splendid view. However, the noise and revelling goes on well into the night and early hours of the morning and if you value a good night's sleep, I wouldn't recommend them. I suspect the rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter and they are certainly cheaper. Despite a few shortcomings, we had a very enjoyable stay at the the Hotel Europa and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a centrally located hotel in Madrid, bearing in mind my previous comments.

My experience of this hotel was very good. My room was large, comfortable, clean and very good value. The hotel is just out of the metro Vodafone-Sol station in the centre of Madrid. Despite the location the room was quiet, albeit some internal noise from other rooms. The staff was helpful, but practically only Spanish-speaking (minor problem). The continental breakfast (not included in the room price and served in the cafeteria) was ok, but not really worth the price paid.

Very central. Great spot for easy access to everything in madrid. Very clean, had a superior room overlooking the square which was lovely. Good for a 3 star. Didn't need to use a bus to get around town as the hotel was in the middle of all the areas that we wanted to visit. Would highly recommend and would re-visit.
