We stayed at the apartment on the ground floor. The apartment consisted of a large bedroom, sitting area with a desk and a sofa, and a kitchenette (fridge, stove, toaster, plates/utensils/cups etc.) However, there was no microwave nor kettle (the owners should really consider a kettle, drinking tea wasn't quite convenient). There are two things to consider when booking the apartment.
1) There is no reception, it's actually an apartment in a residential building. Before you arrive, you need to call a phone number, and someone will meet you at the door and give you the keys. We called about half an hour before arriving but still had to wait for about 20 minutes. The good thing is, the guy speaks English pretty well, so there won't be any communication issues.
2) if you have a late flight on your last day in Madrid and want to leave your luggage at the apartment, you can't do so. You are supposed to vacate the apartment by 12 oclock. If you don't want to walk around dragging your suitcase, you can leave it at the reception, which is located at a hostal near Opera, about 20 minute walk from the apartment.
But generally, I did enjoy my stay. The apartment has almost everything i may need.
