“Basic but perfect for a short city break”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

Great spot for sight seeing mini break. Located just beside Puerto De Toledo Metro station. 5euro to airport (2 changes) or about 1.50 local fares. Good maid service, front desk and bar tenders. No frills but great location. 10 minute walk to Plaza Major. Sight seeing bus stop around the corner. Great for a couple who dont need to be pampered. Nothing for kids so dont bring them !! Free WiFi and safe. Sound barmen with generous measures of great wine and lots of complimentary tapas. We will be back :)

Room Tip: Some rooms at the front can be noisey from the night club across the street

The hotel is located down town and is very close to the Plaza Mayor, Royal Palace, the Cathedral and other attractions. Lot of restaurants are located in an around the area and the hotel is a nice property which is clean and well maintained. We stayed there on two occasions and once we got a room with a twin bed and a sofa cum bed in the living area. The second time we got 4 beds, since we were travelling with kids. The rooms were decent sized and bathroom was equipped with the normal WC and shower with a bidet. The breakfast spread was decent and the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The metro station is a couple of minutes walk from here but going to the airport takes about 45 minutes with two changes with a charge of 5 Euro per person. A taxi is faster and takes about 25 minutes and costs 25 to 30 Euros depending on the time of day. Overall a good stay with a nice location and free wifi with a lot of little shops selling antiquities, shoes, bags and really nice stuff on the same street.

Just spent two nights in this hotel, its perfect. It is nothing special, but very very nice and in the perfect place. There is great wifi in the rooms, very clean, great bathroom, comfortable beds, even water on each floor for the guests. My friend and I loved the hotel and would stay again 100%.

Spent 5 nights here, bar and cafe staff a credit to any hotel, front of house staff not so great, very little english spoken or understood, when you walk pass the desk and smile no response back, returned to the hotel afternoon at approx 3.00pm after being out all day to find rooms not cleaned asked the desk why the gentleman said the staff had to 4.00pm to clean the rooms, he was very abrupt did not know his name you could not miss him if you stayed here he had no hair on his head but plenty around his face, on our last night we asked the desk if they could book a taxi for us at 8.00am the next morning to take us to the airport, he just looked at me and said you go out in the road tomorrow and stop a car, after seeing my facial response he then said come back later, which we did not.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the rooms that overlook the street very busy and noisey

Ganivet is walkable from Pueroto de Tolida metro station. We had taken a triple room. The room is cramped. If one carried huge suitcases it is difficult to open it and spread it across on the floor. There is not much walking space within the room.
The breakfast spread is great with plenty of fruits, juices, muffins, breads.
Staff at the cafe were very courteous.Extremely friendly and offered to help us with vegetarain food.

we stayed here for 3 nights. A family of 6, we had 2 triple rooms. A bit cramped, but we were out and about most of the time. Café was good and relatively inexpensive. Didn't get the breakfast buffet or dinner. Didn't think staff was very friendly. No "welcome" or "we're glad you're here". Great location for exploring. We walked everywhere. 30 euros to airport.
