Owner description: Madrid Xanadú(R), property of Ivanhoé Cambridge, is the benchmark for shopping and leisure centres in Spain. The Centre has more than 220 premises, including 21 large establishments counting among stores, leisure and restaurants. The element that makes the Centre different is the Madrid SnowZone, the only indoor snow slope in Spain. Added to this is the broad leisure offer, oriented to family and youth with 15 movie theaters, mini golf, thematic restaurants, bowling alley, kids club and much more. Madrid Xanadú also offers a unique selection of national and international leading brands and Tiendas El Corte Inglés and Hipercor as the driving force of the Centre. In 2010 Madrid Xanadú launched Phase II of the development of the Centre, with Bricor and Decathlon as its driving force. As from September 2010, Madrid Xanadú hosts the first store in Spain of Apple and of Hollister. In 2013 Bershka, Nike, Pull&Bear, Lefties or H&M have chosen Madrid Xanadú to launch their new store images. Finally, the recent opening of the first stores in Madrid of Forever 21, Violeta by Mango or Kiabi consolidates the role of benchmark of Madrid Xanadú for the main global brands.

This is a huge shopping centre which is full of surprises. There is a huge multiscreen cinema, but the biggest attraction without doubt is the spectacular indoor ski slope. It is impossible to pass it and not stop and look for a while. Alongside is a really lovely crazy golf course, themed on Himalayan 8000 metre peaks. There are many beautiful plaves to sit and eat or drink anything from a quick coffee or ice cream up to a good meal. Xanadu is open every day of the year, even Christmas Day, although the shops shut Christmas Day and New Year. There is a huge variety of shops and stalls and it takes a number of trips to get familiar with everything that the centre has to offer,

Definitely the best shopping centre in all of Madrid.

Huge selection of shops including: El Corte Ingles, Primark, Hollister, Nike, Misako, Imaginarium, Mothercare....

Extensive food court including: Ginos, Ben and Jerrys, Telepizza, Pasta and Salad, KFC, Taco Bells, McDonalds...

There are impressive indoor ski facilities - however I only took a quick look as I was more interested in the shops. There is also a large cinema.

Great large leather armchairs are scattered around if you can't be bothered visiting all of the shops (and your friends/partners are a bit more enthusiastic!).

Best visited in January and July to take advantage of the sales. Imagine it would be best avoided at weekends unless you don't mind huge crowds.

Easy access by frequent bus services from Prince Pio Metro/Bus station. Buses returning to Prince Pio leave on the hour.

Xanadu is a very interesting facility. If you are interested in a wide variety of brand name sporting goods, then Xanadú is the place to go in Spain. The indoor snow facility is worth a look too, especially in the dead heat of summer. Remember however that it can only be very impressive for so long. There will be plenty of other activities to keep a visitor occupied. If you plan on going on the weekend, be aware that the food court is disgustingly saturated. It might be wise to plan on eating at off-hours or somehow to secure a reservation at one of the restaurants (if possible). July and August are good months to find good discounts.
