Smaller hotel offering all I need in a large city. Close to the centre (all within walking distance), so plenty of eateries around.
Check-in & check-out went smoothly, room was clean and had all needed like TV, well functioning bathroom (bath/shower), fridge, working desk, good enough double-sized bed (no duvets but blankets), good breakfast. So in all a good stay for me. On top what I paid for my stay was good value for money.
For those to explore the city, also good as long as one does not want to stay in too much as space is limited (as in must large city center hotels). Would stay there again.

Room Tip: As in any hotel, no room at noisy street side and not next to elevator

I stayed at the Quatro Puerta del Sol for eight nights in mid-October. The very best things about the Quatro are its location (all major sites and areas within walking distance), and the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. My room was absolutely quiet. Breakfast was satisfactory.

On the downside, the bedroom area is very small and jammed with furniture. This resulted in many stubbed toes. The bed and pillows were rock hard (something I encountered everywhere I stayed in Spain). The bathroom, particularly the shower and tub area, needs refurbishment (tiles and tub are stained and chipped). The lighting was poor. There are no drawers in the room.

The best thing about Hotel Quatro Puerta Del Sol is it's location. This boutique hotel is centrally-located in Madrid, making it a great home base for sightseeing with several metro stops near by. Especially if you are traveling to/from Atocha train station, its just a short walk to the Puerta del Sol metro from the hotel. It's also easy to walk to Plaza de Cibeles where there is an airport shuttle stop.

The hotel is clean and modern, and our standard room was relatively spacious by European standards. The bathroom was especially large with a full vanity, shower and room to move around. The hotel was perfect for our 5 night stay in Madrid and we would definitely return.

Room Tip: All rooms have a "view" because the hotel is on the corner of a narrow street. My guess that all would be a good size except for the ones on the very "tip" of the front of the building. Our standard room was very good size, so no need to upgrade for 2 people or less.

Stayed here for a weekend trip with friends. Location is great, 30 minutes from the airport and right in the middle of town. Near to loads of bars and restaurants. The hotel staff are very friendly and speak great English. Hotel is great value, we had triple rooms and they were roomy and well finished.
Would definitely recommend for a short break with friends or as a couple.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street are noisier but have the best view. The rooms on the second floor have balcony's the higher ones don't.

We spent 5 nights at the Quatro in early October. The hotel could not be in a better location. All of the major attractions in Madrid were an easy walk away. The hotel is situated between several different neighborhoods, so by walking in different directions we found a nice variety of restaurants and different "vibes". The Puerta del Sol is a little overwhelming and seems to be always incredibly busy and crowded, but just beyond that is the Plaza Mayor, which is charming, if touristy. Heading in the other direction towards the museums you pass through the artist's quarter and Santa Ana square, which has a lot of good restaurants and tapas bars.
Our room was quite small, but comfortable. We were on an upper level floor so the noise was not an issue. We had breakfast included in our price, and the breakfast spread was quite ample. They even had a coffee machine which brewed decaf if you wanted it, instead of just the usual packet of instant.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors to get up above the street noise.
