Stayed four nights on a city break and had a fantastic time. This hostel is more like a hotel with the rooms cleaned daily and towels changed everyday as well. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the underground and shops, restaurants etc. We walked evrywhere on the tourist map and seen much more than when on the city tour bus. There is a lovely cafe serving value for money breakfasts very close by. The only downside of our trip was being pickpocketed on the tube travelling from the airport to the hostel. As for internet access we had no problem using the wireless in our room.

Rooms are small but have bathroom, tv and minibar as well as air conditioning. They are clean and tidy.
When i stayed at the hostal the light of my hallway wasn't working so it was dark. There is free wifi access and if you don't have a netbook, there is a computer you may use.
The service is good. It has no breakfast but there are nice coffee shops one block away.
I would go back.

The room was nice, though very small. The bathroom was clean and functional. The English-speaking staff, when on duty, was very helpful. The Spanish speaking staff was impossible to communicate with.

The hotel was next to impossible to find. The building entrance had no nameplate. Even when I entered the building, there were no directions. The address of the hotel as in Booking.com was complete but in Spanish, so I was lost for a long time, with luggage. Even the hotel's main door did not have any sign.

For its facilities, the price was too high. And some of the automatic lights in the corridors did not work, making walking in the hotel very dangerous due to numerous small unexpected steps.

The wi-fi worked perfectly!

Good Points: Location, staff, clean, quiet.
Bad Points: 1. Wireless connection useless. PCs provided for general use are a relic from the early 90s. Very old and low spec and running as routers. When someone is on the common PC, you get no connection.
2. Also, you need to put in a NON-REFUNDABLE euro each time you close the safe. Nice little piggy bank.
3. TV reception also useless.
4. There are no drawers anywhere
5. There are NO hooks if you want to hang anything anywhere
6. Shower head was more like a hose.
7. The best of all, unless you are a touch typist, the lights go off on a 3 minute timer. So when you are on the PC you need to get up, walk about 2 meters, wave your arms to get it to turn on. One day I had to take my own lamp from the room to avoid the headache.
Still want to go there????????

Room Tip: The Hostel on the 3rd floor called Hostal Luz..

I used to stay at Las Fuentes all the time when I was a student traveling through Madrid. Since my friends and I were on a budget even ten years later, I chose it again - and it was exactly as I remembered. It still looks new and is spotlessly clean. There is a computer in the lobby with free internet access.

We stayed in a triple which is definitely cozy - the three beds were touching, and there was not much room to move around or to store our luggage. However, these are small issues for the bargain price.

The location can't be beat. I love staying in the Opera/ Sol area because it's just so easy to get around!

we have past a few days in this wonderful hotel, is little but very clean and pratically in the heart of Madrid. You have a card for to open the doors so you can come back at any time of the day or of the night. PC whit internet are available and in the room there is a LCD television. The room are very clean and with a windows on a small road weew the traffic is limited. No breakfast but I think is 'nt a problem the first bar solve your hungry problem. I suggest this good hotel also for the price very low and for the location . You can be in the most important squares or street of Madrid in a few minutes.
Very good hotel in our future travel to madrid surely i will go there. Thank you to mr Thomas
