A very nice place to stay in Madrid - cordial staff, clean rooms, easy access to all tourist places...
Simple things in hotel like free tea/coffee service throughout the day, access to restaurant with personal food, ever smiling staff makes vacation more joyful.
Hotel is walking distance to super markets, self service laundry, good restaurants and most of all to tourist spots.
Worth it's tariff, rooms are clean and equipped with basic things like a mini refrigerator, water, soap, shampoo, gel etc.

We stayed here for two nights in August 2013.
We were impressed by almost every aspect of the hotel.
The staff are charming and friendly.
The location is fantastic for walking around and for connecting with other transport.
The rooms are beautifully done - very plain but stylish and most importantly very clean.
This is a family owned and run business and they clearly care about what they are doing.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It is lovely.

We stayed at Artrip for a 4 night break, from the moment we arrived Miguel and all of his staff could not of been more helpful. They provided great advice on the local area, the sights to see in Madrid and further afield, travel - Metro and RENFE trains, restaurants....Our room was very comfortable and more than large enough with a clever use of the available space, shower is wonderful and the air con and fan worked well, the whole hotel is well decorated in a “Boutique” style More than enough to eat at breakfast and the 24 hour coffee machine is a great bonus. Some have commented on the local area - but we had no problems and felt safe at all times, it is a multicultural area with a mix of ages. Great little local bar next to the hotel “La Castilla” - Overall a great hotel with a well deserved reputation - Would look to stay here again on returning to Madrid.

We are a family with two teens and stayed in two suites early July. We arrived from the airport early and were welcomed for breakfast. Luckily someone checked out and they had our rooms made up promptly so we were able to nap by 10:00 am. The front dest staff was very helpful, and Sara was exceptional. We had a poor experience at Atocha trying to obtain tickets to Toledo. The automated machines would not take our credit card, and after waiting on a line for 45 minutes, we were refused help by a snarky rep because we didn't speak Spanish. Sara helped us purchase and print ticket online for the next day. We found the room to be spacious and comfortable even by US standards. The shower did get the rug a bit wet, and the room could use a waste basket, but those are minor complaints. The breakfast was fine (yummy bread) and we loved the espresso machine. The location is about 8-10 minutes further walk than a "perfect" central location (say the Westin area or Plaza de Santa Ana) but for the cost savings and the level of service we felt it was a good trade off. We still walked most places, but a few times chose to take a cab, and it was never more than 5 Euro. It is also very convenient to the Atocha and a subway station. Again the staff was helpful suggesting a cab to Plaza Santa Ana (uphill) and to walk home rather than the other way around. The area may seem a bit intimidating when you first arrive, but we walked home after 11 several times and felt it was a safe area of "locals". In fact due to that fact it seemed more local we weren't as concerned about pickpockets as we were in the main tourist squares and plazas. We would definitely stay here again or recommend this hotel to others.

Great value, helpful staff, conveniently located, excellent wifi, convenient and cheap breakfast. We stayed in a junior suite towards the back of the hotel (to avoid street noise). I left something at the hotel and they sent it to my hotel in Barcelona w no hassle (thank you!).
