I only stayed here one night but I had a lovely experience. The staff were very helpful and the hostel was well maintained. It was also in the heart of Madrid so I had plenty to keep me busy during my stay. I would definitely return, I wish more hostels were this respectable for the price!

Motion hostel was pretty much what I had expected: it was clean, nice and cheap and there were mostly young people. Staff was nice and spoke some English, which you can't take for granted in Spain... The lobby was a nice place to hang out and it was the only part of the hostel where wifi worked.

The bathrooms are in the rooms which was a bit weird - if everyone in the room wanted to shower in the morning you just had to wait for your turn, there weren't other toilets/showers available.

Location was great and there's a bar downstairs. Really cheap, I would gladly stay here again!

This was our first time in SPAIN and MADRID was our first stop. It was pretty easy to get to from the airport, we took the train. When we got to our hostel at 10am, it was 5 minutes from the center of the city. Unfortunately, we weren't able to check in, which was expected, but we were able to leave our luggage in a designated area. We stayed in a private room for 3, there was nothing special. The 3 twin beds were actually really comfortable, my fiancé said "i found my sleep number', which was shocking, because we have a tempurpedic. So the beds were quite comfortable. The staff members were hit or miss. Some were nice and helpful and others were not so much. Their elevators were a little scary, but it did the job. The common area was small, it had 2 computers and a couch, nothing fancy. The WIFI did not work in our rooms, they said it was out and would be fixed soon. The three days we were there, there was no WIFI in our room. Very inconvenient, because we had to go downstairs using that scary elevator every time we wanted to look up things to do. The downstairs has a breakfast/bar area. Free breakfast, nothing special, but it was nice to have something before we started our day full of TAPAS. they had fresh fruit, coffee, tea, cocoa, cereal, and bread. The old man that works at night is very grumpy… so beware. they said the food was served 24 hours. it was not. I was really craven FRITES after a long day out too..

Overall: not bad.

Pros: washer & dryer available 5 euros
Centrally located. walking distance to most places.
comfy bed, clean linen (no towels)
AC!!!

Cons: No wifi in the room
staff members were hit or miss.
bathrooms were kind of scary, there was mold in the showers.

Honestly the worst hostel I have ever visited in the whole world. In comparison a cheap accomodation in the middle of Cambodia looks like Hilton. I still wonder about the chinese lady who was constantly walking around along the corridors wearing plastic bags instead of shoes. We booked a twin we got a single bed, breakfast was like shopping in the rubbish on the street. Seriously, I understand 50 euro for two nights its cheap, but a minimum of decency... unclassifiable

Great hostel that I've returned to vey time I've visited Madrid as a tourist. Fantastic location in between Puerta del Sol & Gran Via. The rooms are value for money and there are lockers for you most valuable stuff. Although the rooms have AC, they can still be really warm in winter.
The staff are lovely, very helpful in giving directions, organising travel etc and will keep your luggage for you if you need somewhere to leave it for the day after you've checked out.

Loved the loxation as most of the main attractions (museo del prado, puerta del
Sol, Plaza mayor, Retiro Park, Royal
palace) are within a 15min walking distance, with multiple metro stations and a major bus loop near the Banco de Espana close by. The direct express bus to the airport is within a walking distance on passeo del prado. The rooms were brightly painted, the bathrooms cleaned and stocked everday and overall cozy. The lounge area and breakfast areas can get packed and the breakfast was the same everyday. The staff were friendly & helpful. Only thing is if you have a first floor room, the room can get very noisy at night, with noise from outside and the hallway. Overall a hostel with good value, arranging of free tours, and more appropriate for young people.

I stayed here for over a week. Good value for your money. Fantastic location within walking distance to major attractions in Madrid. The staff are friendly and helpful although they seem to be in a frantic. The breakfast is good, what you would expect from a hostel (coffee, tea, toast, fruit), the WIFI is only available in the common area/reception area, they have two computers available for use free of charge.

The photos seem to be taken before they made renovations to the space, so I was a bit surprised when it looked so different from what I expected. Although bringing your own locks to a hostel is smart, not all the lockers in the rooms work. But if you're lucky, you'll receive a key to your own locker.

It is fairly clean. The cleaning person would come in some days and some days not at all. But it's a hostel...you get what you pay for..amirite?
