“Great Location - Clean!!”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

Great Location, located across from the El Carmen Metro station. This is about a 45min Metro ride from the airport. Once at the hotel, you can be at the center of Madrid in 10-15min on the Metro. We had never stayed at an Ibis Budget before, but after reading the reviews we knew what to expect. This is an extremely small room with a bed, bathroom, and TV. No extras. It is very well kept, and extremely clean. The rooms remind me of a Cruise Cabin. They provided 2 towels each day, and made our bed up. The breakfast is over priced, but you have to understand that in Madrid - breakfast is the least important meal of the day. Normally you grab a pastry and the local cafe, sip some coffee and you are on your way. When you stop for a drink you get a tapas and that holds you over until lunch. I suggest skipping the 4.50Euro breakfast and walking half a block to the local bakery. They have an assortment of pastries and coffee. We had coffee and a pastry for about 1.5Euro a piece each morning on our way to downtown Madrid. There are also 2 grocery stores on the block if you would like to pick something up. The only reason I can't give this hotel 5stars is the water in the shower. It would rapidly change from the set temperature, to scolding or freezing and back to normal every few minutes. Maybe it was just our room. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel. It is a quick trip in to Madrid, and you don't have to sacrifice staying at a hostel to get a good rate on a room. We would book this hotel again in a heartbeat.

It is a great price point alternative to private room/bath in hostel and much quieter. Only minutes from central Madrid. Staff are very helpful. Only yards from El Carmen metro and close to two grocery stores. I also loved the online reservation site. I have stayed here twice.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's a budget hotel so do not expect much, but starting from the room to breakfast everything works just fine. If you need a place to stay for a night or a couple of nights and big breakfast is not very important for you then it's a place for you. Bed is comfortable. Rooms are cleaned every day and pretty thoroughly. Bathroom in the room can be a little bit problematic at the beginning, but as I wrote it's a basic, budget hotel so don't expect much. A very good thing is that it is located just few steps from the metro station and in 15 min. you can reach most of the central Madrid landmarks. Free WiFi was a very nice addition - not extremely fast, but worked OK.

Very modern facility in good shape. Good location, nearest Metro station is only 50 meters, about 7 stops to Puerta del Sol. Supermarket is 100 meters away. Some noise comes in when windows are open, but not too bad. Rooms are very small (no closets to put away your stuff), but hey, what do you expect, this is a budget hotel! Staff was helpful and friendly, some English spoken. Rooms were clean. BUT: there is an unpleasant smell in the hallway (cleaning chemicals...?), and also in the room. Then we realized that we were allocated a smoking room, without asking us at check-in, hence the bad smell. We had to keep the windows open all the time to try to get rid of it. But that was the only negative that I could mention. Special feature: shower-heads have built-in multicoloured LEDs, so you feel like in a sci-fi movie when showering...:-)

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room at check-in, smoking rooms stink.

What's GREAT: If you're looking for a basic clean room, attached bathroom, located near the train station and free wifi, this is it. It's great value for money!

I was there in April and the weather was cold. The heating in the room was welcoming.

Train station is literally about 100-200meters away. There are many cafes and supermarkets around. Plaza del Toros is also within walking distance or just 1 train stop away. They also offered unlimited free wifi. Not sure if this was a promotion thingy during my stay or a permanent feature. I was able to get a taxi very easily because most of them stop just behind the hotel. Hot water for drinking is available at the vending machine on ground floor. It's free.

Not so great:
It'll be great if they also provided a water jug kettle in the room. The train stop for Les Corts is not stair free. In fact, it has quite a lot of steps. Best to avoid using the train if you have heavy luggage. I hailed a taxi from the hotel to the train station and it cost me about 10-13 euros.

This is a very good option if you want to stay in Madrid.. only a few stops away to Plaza El Sol, (center of Madrid tourist attractions). Very friendly staff willing to help you and tell you how to get here and there. Super clean rooms with the basics..
I will definitely recommended and I will go back to it again when I go to Madrid..

This hotel is a good option if you want to save money with accomodation. The price is good but the rooms have bare minimum amenities. Wi-fi was available for free. The staff was very attentive and helpfull. A late check-out is available for 15 euros and for me that was perfect as it allowed me to envoy the city until early afternoon, then have a shower and leave freshened up to the airport.
