“Excellent addition to sightseeing in Madrid”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Our family of five (two adults and three teenagers) all enjoyed the Huertas Neighborhood Tour. It was the perfect length and introduction to the neighborhood. The food was fantastic and we all enjoyed hearing the history behind the tour. Whenever you can engage three teenagers, I consider it a success!!

“Great Tapas, Taverns tour”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Sean was fantastic. Took us to 4 pubs and gave us lots of history.
We even went back to the church where he told us about the cloistered nuns who bake cookies for sale.

Keep in mind, there is a LOT of drinks to be sampled. A LOT!

sherry, vermouth, white wine, red wine, sangria & maybe more.

I was expecting to eat more food given the price tag of this tour but we did sample lots of different tapas but they were only samples enough for a group tour. Best to eat a little before this tour/

“Walk The Walk of a Spaniard”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

An absolute MUST to complete your stay in Madrid. My wife and I went on the "Huertas Neighborhood Food & Market Tour" hosted by Lauren and it was one of the highlights of our two week vacation throughout Spain. We would do it the same tour again in a heart beat! She was even kind enough to follow up in an email with information that we requested during the tour. This is not an opportunity to miss. Aprovechalo!

“Perfect introduction to Madrid”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We did the tapas, taverns and history tour on our first evening in Madrid and we were really glad that we did. It was a great introduction to the City. It took us to places we would probably otherwise not have gone into and taught us what to ask for (for example we would never have dreamt of drinking vermouth with Iberian ham but it was very good indeed!). Being in a group of just 8 people plus guide also made it a very friendly event. With visits to 4/5 bars and dinner at the last venue, this was also very good value for money.

“Amazing tour”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the Tapas, Taverns and History tour with a lovely, warm and engaging guide who was originally from Ireland and was fluent in both Spanish and English. She took us to a good variety of amazing bars and tapas places where we sampled some great local dishes and drinks. Each place had a uniqueness about it; some were family owned for many generations, another place had the same decor in place for many, many decades, others had recipes that had been handed down for generations. Each place had an incredible atmosphere and traditional decor; it was great just to be in some of these restaurants. Our guide knew what to order in each place so that we got the house speciality and a wide variety of dishes and drinks. The tour went for 4 hours and we were still eating at 11.30pm! The time flew by so quickly.

Our guide was knowledgeable, not only about the venues we ate in but also the many historical sites she took us to. She was very attentive to our individual needs and wants, and would discuss with the group the dishes she thought best to order in each place before placing the order, to ensure everyone was happy with the choices. The tour was inclusive of all the food and drinks (which is not always the case with other tour operators!) and we finished with very full stomachs and had plenty to drink. There is a maximum of 8 people in the group, which makes for a very enjoyable night.

This was a wonderful tour and highly recommended.
