Great location. Stylish and design hotel, yet despite it's positioning as part of Small Luxury Hotels, it is hard to attribute this hotel to this category. SHL suggest personalized experience and "devil in the detail." Red colored walls and snacks in a stylish carton box are good, but not enough. No slippers or bathrobe. When asked for them the reception, a sullen man brought me loose slippers (no plastic cover on it) but mentioned nothing about the bathrobe. Good hotel that should not make the claims for what it is not.

This was my 3rd time of staying here. I love the rooms on the back side of the hotel because they are quieter. I love the location, near the metro (easy to arrive from airport), near shopping, not far from the park (I walk a lot). The building is old world stately, but the amenities are new world efficient----and simple elegance. The breakfast and lunch cafe on the ground level is relaxed, comfortable and full of light. It is a great place meet before dinner or get a quick bite in the afternoon.

Bang in the centre of Madrid, close to the metro, the Hotel de las Letras was the perfect stay for a quick business trip. My room was clean, bright and modern, breakfast was perhaps the best I'd had from similarly priced hotels and the staff were friendly and efficient. I really couldn't fault it.

We stayed here for 10 nights and it was an excellent base for our holiday. The staff are young, friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, of good size and nicely furnished with a pleasant writing theme. It is an excellent location close to Sol and straight across Gran Via into the Chueca for restaurants and bars. Easy walking to the Prado, Salamanca and Plaza Mayor.

We booked online and got a good deal. Recommended: very good value for money (bit late in submitting this review).

Newbies to Spain this charming hotel has been a wonderful base from which to explore Madrid. Excellent helpful staff ,well informed about local sites and who go out of their way to assist you. Large room, Comfortable beds, great pillows, great bathroom and if there's one comment it's the slippery bath tub bottom felt it could use more "foot stop" stickies. The restaurant and bar offer good service and light food. One can walk everywhere and bus service close by. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as street noise can be intense at times. Ask for a quiet room. The small balcony was a plus.
