“Great hotel, but maybe not best location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2013

I stayed here with a friend in August and we are both in our early 30s. I have no complaints about this hotel. Rooms were clean and cool, wifi worked, service was great. The pool area is nothing special, it's pretty small and it was crowded and shady, but still does the trick if you want a swim.

The hotel is a nice walk from the Park del Retiro and Prado museum, but if I was to go back to Madrid I would probably stay closer to Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Santa Ana or Puerta del Sol so just a tip for anyone trying to figure out which areas area ideal. That's where more of the action is :)

This hotel is in the beautiful Serrano area of Madrid, the service is very friendly and helpful, and they even have a pool (which we didn't use) but which looked nice. Breakfast was included and it was limited but good - we also didn't have very much. The coffee was delicious. The rooms were simple but sufficient. The only suggestion I would have is to repaint inside the shower as it looked a bit worn. Overall it was a great hotel for the very reasonable price we paid (about 88euro), and I'd definitely recommend it.

I had a dreadful experience in a nearby hotel, so I decided to change for this one. The location is great. Few steps away from Plaza Colon. Staff are really friendly and even if the hotel might look a little basic, it's a very good option if you're looking for a good balance price quality in a very central area.

Excellent service , great room and facilities. Coffee at breakfast very good. Location near government buildings means there is alot of police around , so good for security. Colon Metro station is just around the corner . Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance ( Hard Rock Cafe just across the square )
Cannot fault this hotel.

Was at this hotel last year and would recommend it. Had reached very early in the morning and they gave the room to me at 10 am. The location is excellent and the room size for european standards was excellent. Infact my mother and sister are going and they are also staying here. Highly recommended ....

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend and weren't disappointed. The location is great - everything is in walking distance, but the road itself is very quiet and guarded due to the nearby Ministry. We booked a superior room and although it wasn't huge, it was very nicely laid out with a huge bed and attractive decor. The shower was AMAZING! There are two nearby metro stations for getting around the city easily, but if you want to stay central then it is best to walk, you see everything that way! When we did get cabs at night, we never paid more than about 6Euros from the central areas back to the hotel. There is also a wonderful shop called the Mallorca market which is a short walk from the hotel, selling gorgeous deli food and little pastries, cakes etc. We got a selection and took it to the Parque Del Retiro for a picnic, which is an absolute delight to walk around and sit in, especially in the Spanish sunshine. We would definitely return to this lovely, friendly hotel again!
