A long weekend away in the heart of Madrid, minutes away from the Gran Via an excellent apartment with all the amenities needed. It is in a residential building in a pedestrian street with sufficient shops near by (small supermarkets like Simply, Dia, Carrefour Express, 24 hour tobacconist and bakery) and with three metro stations minutes away (Gran Via, Chueca and Tribunal). Perfect for families or - like us - 4 friends on the town. Very warm due to central heating! Highly recommendable!
Right where we wanted to be. the apartment was fab, like home from home ,it was quiet at night, beds comfy kitchen had every utensil you could think of yes it was a pleasure to stay there.
What a delightful find right in the heart of the action in Madrid. This well located apartment has three bedrooms, can sleep 6 (with an extra mattress) and has a spacious living /dining area, a functional kitchen and two bathrooms. There are shuttered French doors onto a small window ledge/terraces looking over the bustling pedestrian only street below.Dubbed the gay quarter it's full of the eclectic and eccentric and makes life a riot of colour and choice.
Despite being very well located in this busy area full of restaurants and bars the double glazing keeps most of the noise out. Which is just as well because there is a fairly continual stream of joyful (and not so joyful) laughter, shouting and general hullaballoo going on deep into the night. There are air conditioners in the main rooms which you would need here in mid-summer because you would not get any sleep with the windows open! The apartment is on the third floor and serviced by a small but functional lift. The Wifi worked well, there was a well equipped kitchen with, cooker fridge a coffee maker (percolator), dishwasher and so forth. The beds were pretty simple and hard (but typical for Spain!). We were met on arrival and departure and given a good introduction (all in Spanish), but the manager was available on the phone to sort out any misunderstandings (due to our woeful lack of Spanish). All in all a very reasonable base for exploring Madrid. My only suggestion would be a few small items like milk/OJ/bread in the fridge for arrival as some other apartments in Spain provide. Its great when you arrive late.

The apartment was excellent, it was just like the photos on tripadvisor. It's easily big enough for 5 people although in the smallest bedroom it would be almost impossible to fit the extra bed in for the 6th person.
It was very clean, well equipped and comfortable and in an excellent place in the centre of Madrid.
