“Fantastic hotel in great city!”
Reviewed 9 March 2011

This was the perfect hotel for our 4 day trip to Madrid. It's located in the center of Madrid, near the Metropolis building, at less that 2 minutes from public transportation (bus or tube). If you like to walk and enjoy the sightseeing, then you'll be pleased to know that you can reach most of Madrid's attractions by doing just that (ie, walking). The room was clean and silent and the bathroom was huge! I believe I have nothing bad to say about this hotel and I will certainly stay there whenever I go back to Madrid.

Lusso Infantas was the perfect location for our three day visit to Madrid. We felt like we were in the center of everything. After arriving, we only took public transportation once! Everything was within an easy walk of the hotel. We had one of the rooms between the flags on the front street (#106). We noticed a little noise on the street the first night (Saturday) but had no trouble sleeping. The room was quite comfortable and the staff very pleasant. There is no doubt in my mind where I will stay next time I visit Madrid!

Really liked this hotel. It is in a great location, centrally located with lots of bars and restaurants around. There is also one of the main shopping streets located at the end of Calle infantas.
Its very close to the bus stop at Plaza de Cibeles where the Airport express bus (2 euro) stops. get off the bus, walk up past the fountain and as far as the Metropolitan building and turn up right and its across from the starbucks.
we ate in the restaurant in the hotel, Ex Libris, and it was very nice. The steak was very good.
The staff were very nice and looked after us. We were checking in slightly early and when we arrived they told us they had put us in a lovely corner room on the 4th floor which was beautiful. They then dropped up some lovely chocolates that evening which we enjoyed.
The little bakery beside the hotel is nice for breakfast and is reasonable. Just walk out of the hotel and turn right. Its up about 50 metres.
Madrid is more compact than i thought so you can walk around to most of the sites without any bother.

Excellent location, close to bars, restaurants, and Madrid sites. Excellent, friendly and helpful front desk staff. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was the noise from the street. But it was worth the sacrifice being in such a great location for a great price! Would definitely stay here again.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your wonderful comment regarding your stay with us, here at the Hotel Infantas.

About the noise, despite having no clubs or pubs within 200 meters, it´s an area full of restaurants and has plenty of life on weekends so sometimes you can hear noise, like any city center on weekends.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

My family (myself, husband & 22-year old daughter) stayed here Christmas through New Year's in 2010. The rooms are very big with really nice bathrooms. The showers were roomy and we had TONS of hot water. We've traveled to several European countries and hot water is sometimes hard to come by. All three of us were able to have long hot showers at the end of our busy days! They have restaurant (which we did not eat at) and a small bar. The small bar had appetizers and it was nice to be able to get a glass of wine at the end of the day. The location could not have been better. We were within walking distance of The Prado, the Thyssen, the Palace, and all the major sites. There were several wonderful restaurants very near by. If we return to Madrid, we would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in January based on reviews from TripAdvisor. This hotel was very good. It wasn't too far from a metro and bus station, 5 min. walk to the Prado Musuem, 10 min. walk to Reina Sofia. There are many great restaurants serving all kinds of cuisine within a 3 block radius and a Starbucks directly across the street. Room was clean, good size, but the noise was a problem. A lot of street traffic and construction going on. Staff was very courteous and overall a very good hotel.

I have no idea how this hotel could make it to the top-5 of hotels in Madrid on Tripadvisor. Given my own experience, I would rate it it average at best. There is just nothing that stands out with this hotel, but there are quite a few annoyances. Once we entered our room on the 4th floor, we smelled a strong smell of tobacco. Given that we had requested a non-smoking room, we asked at the reception to move to another room. Here we we told that our room was actually a non-smoking room, the whole 4th floor being non-smoking, but that some guests choose to ignore that policy. Blaming other guests seems to be a very poor excuse. There are no signs that smoking is not allowed anywhere in the room or on the corridors, and I think the hotel could do much better to enforce a non-smoking policy. Another major disappointment was that the internet did not work for the whole 2 days of our stay, apart from a couple of hours on the day we arrived. Despite the reception trying to remedy the situation, they could do little apart from repeatedly calling the service provider, who doesn't seem to care.
The location of the hotel is not great, given that we could hear disco noise on both Friday and Saturday nights until the early morning hours.
One positive thing was however, the staff who tried to help as much as they could

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your comments. I note your recommendations and try to put solution as soon as possible but I would like to point out serveral things:

1- About the smoking policy, just say that there is a sign at the exit of the lifts warning against smoking ban maybe we should put an other signal in every single room but in any case we are not the police and we hope that everyone respects the rules but as you know rules are not always met.

2- The hotel is attached to the ministry of culture with frequency inhibitors, time ago we had problems with it but now it is solved maybe that could have been ther problem.

3- There are no clubs or pubs within 200 meters but there are plenty of restaurants that may have been the cause of noise the day you were hosted at Hotel Infantas.

The hotel is well situated if your idea is to make cultural visits, shopping, know restaurants or have few drinks but it is not if your intention is to find a heaven of peace and tranquility despite we are in the quiet area of the city center.

Anyway your feedback helps us improve.

Thanks again and hope to have you again with us in order to change your mind about the Hotel Infantas.
