“Excellent value, so why am I disappointed?”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

The hotel staff could not be more pleasant and efficient. The breakfast is great. The rooms spotless. However, the bedroom was very small for wheelchair user and no seat in the shower which meant using the seat from the bedroom. Wheelchair did not go up the side of the bed. Bedside cabinets very low down which were difficult to access from the bed. No BBC news or CNN although advertised. No restaurant, bar or coffee lounge, in August. No dressing gowns although advertised. In the room for the couple with infant, by they time the cot and pushchair was in, there was no room to move. The location is fabulous as is the city. The one thing I was really bothered about was being unable top put the baby down. She wanted to crawl but the bed in both rooms was exceedingly sharp all along as were all bedside cabinets.

Room Tip: Only saw the two we were using and found them very small and not really suitable for a child or whee...

Was here for business but had a bit of time (unusual) and this hotel was ideal. Very clean, all the necessary stuff, free wifi and close in the centre (I love Hard Rock Cafe and was 1 street away!!!)
Good value in a big city in summer.....recommend

Room Tip: All good, no issues

A pretty good hotel. Decent price, modern, well located in the shopping district and not far from main attractions. Service was good and all in all I have no complaints about this hotel. A good deal for Madrid.

As everyone has already stated, this location is fabulous. When you enter your room, you are impressed by the modern, high fashion appearance of the room. However, you soon realize that the room must have been designed by someone who has never actually stayed in a hotel! There are no drawers, only a few shelves, and no hooks or ledges in the bathroom. We were with a group, and every morning we would share stories about the water in the shower. After finally figuring out how to turn on the shower, half the group ended up being sprayed by the handheld shower head which suddenly came on when turning on the water. Two members had flooded bathrooms when the water would not turn off. Stay here only if the location meets your needs.

09/06/14 - 11/09/14
Room n° 316 - €140/night inc breakfast
The location of this hotel is excellent: very central in a nice neighborhood, lots of nice shops, close to the Metro and many bus stops. A public underground parking at the front door (that is, the entrance lift from the sidewalk).
The hotel is located in a traditional old building, nicely renovated. Some old elements have been kept, like parts of the staircases, and the courtyard is covered in glass for the reception area.
Breakfast is expensive but excellent, but service could be a little bit friendlier sometimes. As usual in Spain not much use for other languages than Spanish
Our room had a window on a wide inside shaft, which at first did not look nice but provided ample light and fresh air, and at night it was remarkably quit with the window open.
The bed was big and rather comfortable, small LCD screen too far from the bed to see anything. Wifi was working OK. The bathroom was closed off from the bedroom by a glass partition from floor to ceiling, milk-white, providing some daylight. Amenities OK, room and bathroom clean enough but the overall impression is one of tiredness and worn. Cracked titles here and there, stains on the wooden table with the washing basin (unavoidable, not a clever design option) and shaving and make up mirror oddly placed in a corner without adequate lighting.
Conclusion: Reasonably priced for good location, could do with a fix to justify price more.

Stayed at the Petit Palace Embassy for two nights. First of all, the location of the hotel was really convenient, close to all the shopping areas. Also, there is a underground stop close to the hotel where you can take to all the popular sights. The rooms were modern, well organized and very clean. The service was really good and the staff was very helpful! One negative side was that the air conditioning was not working as they said that they only had it on for the heater.

Despite that, overall, I was very pleased with this hotel!

Hard to review, because it's a bit like finding a Travelodge in Bond Street. What should one expect, when staying in a modest hotel in a posh location? The rooms are perhaps a little too basic - no drawers, for example, but it's quiet, clean and with a comfortable bed. If you need somewhere central to sleep, with no other expectations, this would be a good choice. If you're after more than that, probably not.
