we were travelling in group... so i will talk from my personal opion in english as not many japanese leave reviews....

We found the hotel perfect for us as rooms were extremely large in the middle of the city, clean, clean and fantastic shower and bedding.

Rooms are also provided with free internet access in the tv and films and music also for free using smart tvs.

We will recommend to all the japaneses travelling to madrid.

I very much liked the design of the building and it was in a perfect location both for local shopping, restaurants and of course the tapas, the room was magnificent and the views out across the street were spectacular, the reception staff were in particular very helpful but generally the staff throughout the hotel were very helpful, the bar area was excellent with good service too.

The breakfasts were excellent, good choices the gym was excellent with a good variety of machines all round

After arriving in our hotel suite, I left my friends and my luggage in the room and then I went out for a nice evening, leaving my friend sleeping in the room. When I arrived back from the evening I walked into my room to discover that almost EVERYTHING had gone. My friend had asked to change room because she was scared (which they charged for and then did NOTHING) as while she was asleep a stranger had walked into our room due to faulty locks and stolen everything of value that they could see.
When I went to speak to the reception they DID NOTHING and told us that they could not help us. I 100% advise no one to stay in this hotel, it is simply not safe.
There is a police report which I filed just after the event to prove the authenticity of this statement.

Dear guest,

We apologize for the inconvenient that you had during your stay, but we would like to complete all the history of what happened that night.
The friend that was sleeping in your room and said that somebody entered in the room (the supposed burglar enter to the apartment, opend the fridge, take a beer and drink it, turned on the lights and when he saw somebody in the apartment he was surprised and asking apologizes he run out of the apartment),then your friend came to the Hotel (we remind that you were not allocated in the Hotel, you were allocated in an apartment out of the Hotel building without a Reception service,as it is not a Hotel structure, and it was what you booked) and the receptionist at night in the Hotel gave her a room (and we would like to inform you that WITHOUT any cost). She forgot to lock the room when she left the room (and even when she was into) , and you informed us that two backpacks were stolen of your room (that she left opened again the second time) and when the rest of your friends came to the Front Desk (with a clear alcohol intoxication) we phoned to the police and the said that you had to go to the police station to report it. When you were there, other friend of yours FOUND your backpacks, as it appear in the police report.
Later you informed to the Front Desk that a mobile phone dissapeared finally .
We informed you that although we had an insurance for all the risks that may occur in our appartments (we remark that it was not the Hotel) they would not accept your claiming as there was not any violence or damage in the door or lock, it just was due because the door was left opened.
We regret if finally you lack of anything of your things, but it was all really a strange situation.
Our company provide all the necessary things to safe the goods and phisycal integrity of our guests, but as in any house it is necessary to close and lock the door when you left it and we could not check any damage or burglary joined to an advanced alcohol intoxication takes us to conclude that we are not responsible for that possible burglary.
In anycase our will be difficult to solve it as there are not any burglary evidence or phisycal description. We will maintain you informed if we had any new.
Best Regards

I strongly recommend this hotel well apartment. The deco is modern fashion and original. The suite has room to sleep 6 and has a full kitchen. The super bathtub with jets in the bedroom was great. The location could not be better as it is surround by trendy bars and restaurants and is only a 5 minute walk to Sol.
I will be back!

Amazing decor, amazing story, and pet friendly too!!

When you check into this hotel and they ask you if you'd like a glass of champagne (and it's not Cook's!) to take to your room, you know you're in for a treat.

I stayed here for a few days in the winter and it was fantastic. What they have done with this building is so cool - I really did just love walking around and reading about the history.

My friend and I stayed in a two-bed suite. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was heavenly. The worst thing about the room was that our view was into the windows of the medical center next door.

the valet/doormen let him park his car right up front without any hassle. They treated him as though he were a paying guest and I thought that was pretty nice.

The staff was friendly, very courteous and happy to help. The hotel has quite a lot of food and entertainment happening off of different areas off of the lobby. The night we got in, there was a fashion show using the lobby and The Catwalk. We heard great things about the food at Clink and the great music and partying at the Alibi. Both places were always bustling during our stay and it seems a lot of Bostonians actually come to the hotel for a good time!

We were able to get room service well into the night (after midnight) which is a big plus in my book, especially when you're out partying. Room service food comes from calle30 and it was delicious each time.

We reserved a table at the calle30 restaurant one night, overlooking the hub-bub of the rest of the hotel. The ambiance was wonderful, the food and service were just plain bad. We ordered from the menu tapas-style and what we ate was extremelly good - especially for the price.

It's great that the hotel has so many other little places within it.

We arrived at 11.30pm on Thursday night. On entering the hotel, we were quite impressed. Check in was simple and straight forward. We were shown to a lift to get to our apartment, that's where our impression changed. The lift was tiny and dirty. We could barely fit the two of us and our hand luggage in. The room seemed ok - on first look! It was obviously a self catering room and the small seating area was visible with a curtain over the galley style kitchen. The bathroom was the size of a shoe box. I had to sit sideways on the toilet to fit in and I have no idea how my husband was going to fit in the shower (he's under 6 foot so that is saying something). We were greeted with two single beds and enough walking space around the bed to get to the other side.

As this trip was a surprise for my 30th birthday from my husband and he had paid quite a bit for the room (he was swayed to go for this hotel over others due to the misleading photos on their website), I asked for our room to be swapped. This was done with no hassle what so ever and we were transferred to an apartment around the corner. We were assured that this would not cost anymore as it was the same price as the room we had paid for… The new room had a living room/kitchen area, a separate bed and a Jacuzzi! So how that can be the same price as the shoe box we were first given, I’m not sure. Anyway, the new room was better apart from the toilet. This was still tiny with not much room to get in and out the sliding door but the French doors from the bedroom made it a little bit easier. There was also a projector screen in the bedroom but this cost an extra 10 euros a day to get the remote control!

We also had breakfast included in our deal. This was the worst breakfast I have ever seen and we only had it the first day we were there. On walking over to the main hotel, we entered the Beauty Bar to be given a small glass of orange juice and offered one of the items from a small list. We chose a croissant (thinking we would be given more than one item) and when they came they were burnt and we couldn’t eat them. This was very disappointing as I was expecting a little bit more to fill up on for my day of sightseeing. We didn’t have breakfast there again despite it being free. I would suggest saving your money.

All in all, the new room we stayed in was clean and served its purpose for our short stay in Madrid. I would consider staying here again if I it wasn’t so overpriced (for the basic room) and I certainly wouldn’t waste 6/8 euros a day on the breakfast.
