This hotel has plenty of reviews already, but I want to point out one feature of the rooms that is a little unusual. The bathrooms are not separate, so the glass shower door is open to the bedroom. Additionally, the toilet is separated, but only by a sliding door (ours didn't fully close). So, if you're very comfortable with each other, you'll be fine. But if you're just trying to split a room to save money, be aware of this design!

I agree with the other reviews that the hotel is a great value and in an unbeatable location. Breakfast is top-notch, as well. Their free Wi-Fi sets the standard for hotels worldwide... fastest I've ever seen. No complaints about anything!

Very good Metro hotel, smallish room, great location, good staff. If you are looking for large rooms and quite look some where else, if you are looking for a great location and a very nice room this is it. Get the room with the balcony and you will be fine. Limited breakfast, but OK. Try the Black Rose for dinner, great food and resonable. Santa Anna square is a great central location for all you would want to see or eat.

Best location, everything is walking distance, do not miss san miguel market, where you can eat all kinds of tapas in a nice place. Right beside plaza Mayor. Staff polite, rooms look even better than in the photo, and for european style not small rooms. Definetely I will stay there again!

We enjoyed this hotel !
We probably received the smallest room and it had 2 adjacent windows facing 3 walls !!
But we didn't mind since the room was very comfort, clean and worm
The location is great - can not ask for more
The breakfast was very good, more then the average 3 star hotels
Downside was that even though we asked to stay until 8 PM and add half of the room price they didn't agree (said the rooms can be cleaned untill 6 PM and we need to leave untill 5PM). The hotel wasn't fully booked at all, they could have earn the money and make us more happy !

Just stayed in Alicia for the fourth time. Friendly staff, both in reception and cafeteria and rooms quite adequate for purpose for a relatively low-cost hotel with modern decoration .
Position on our favourite little square in Madrid, the Plaza Santa Ana, is a big plus.
Price is right if you can get one of the special deals for advanced booking.

Located on the Plaza Santa Anna, this hotel is a great location to walk anywhere in the old section of Madrid and to the Prado museum. It was very quiet to sleep. The staff was very friendly.

We arrived early into Madrid and got to the hotel around noon. Upon arrival, they got our junior suite ready for us in 15 minutes. The location is perfect to all the tourist areas you will want to see and the Santa Ana Plaza which is outside the front door had many restaturants that served food all day long. I know some of the 5 star restaurants do not open until 10 p.m., but these restaurants were available for tourist to get something to eat anytime you want at decent prices.
The hotel had free wifi and a decent breakfast served late in the morning. The air conditioning worked very well which is a must when you are in Madrid in the warm months. Our room looked out to the Santa Ana Plaza but no worries about any noise.
It was quiet in the room all the time.
The negatives would not keep me from returning to the hotel but to be noted. The windows closed with several switches that I could not get to work easily. One set of switches closed the black out shades and the other operated the slated window shades.
When you check in, nobody comes to the room to show you how to operate these switches. The other problem was the shower head, when you turn it on, sprays into your face and all over the floor. You have to make sure the shower head is placed in the location that it is pointed towards the floor instead of at your face. These problems could easily be remedied if someone were to accompany you to the room when you check in and show you how to operate the windows and the shower but there is only one person at the desk at all times and no concierge.
All in all, a nice place to stay and yes, I would return now that I know how to operate the shower and window shades.
