This was my fourth visit( May 2013) to this hotel in four consecutive years. The hotel is modern, the rooms are comfortable ,very well cleaned and the buffet breakfast is excellent.A good choice of hot and cold food, freshly squeezed fruit juices and other drinks are provided. Furthermore, the price is very competetive for a 4 star hotel. The hotel is situated in Atocha, two minutes from the Metro and three stops to the centre of the city(Sol)

For those who wish to feast on the concentration of art, comprised of the Museo del Prado,Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, these three diverse collections , are within an 8 minute walk from the hotel's front door.

Depending on the time available, the Atocha Railway Station( RENFE) ,is a short distance beyond the Metro. This provides regular services to Toledo, Aranquez( made famous by Rodrigo's Concierto) and El Escorial, which is part palace, royal mausoleum, basilica and library. All these locations are reached within one hour from this station, which also has a unique tropical garden.

Madrid's most important park, El Retiro can also be reached within 6-7 minutes from the hotel, which provides welcome shade and peace.

Whilst Barcelona has its obvoius attractions, I enjoy the understated charms of Madrid, its art and history. For anyone who wishes to see Spain's capital and to be close to so many wonderful places of historic, artistic and cultural interest, I feel that this hotel, meets the necessary criteria.

Room Tip: Rooms either overlook the street or an internal courtyard. I have always requested a quite room ,wh...

I stayed her in november 2012. Hotel is situated on Calle Atocha, 10 minutes walk to Atocha train station, from here you can take the metro, train and bus. At Atocha train station si also final stop for Airport Express, that drives you to Barajas airport in 20-30 minutes. Hotel has a perfect location within 10 minutes walk of the main galleries Reine Sofia and Prado. Botanical Gardens and Retiro Park are also very close. Our room was big, clean with a large bathroom and with excellent bed. Hotel employees were friendly and helpful (maybe english could be better). Buffet breakfast was very good., wide variety including cereals, pastries, cooked food, cold meats and fresh fruit.

Had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Right across the street from the metro and things like the botanical gardens and Reina Sofia. The hotel was a few minutes walk from some lovely squares that had plenty of bars and restaurants.
The Hotel staff were more then happy to help when asked for directions, and our room was spotless.
Really recommend this hotel.

Located directly in the museum district. This hotel on Calle de Atoche is just minutes walk from Madrid's Plaza Mayor. This plaza is a central spot for eating, drinking and hanging out people-watching. We were able to walk almost everywhere though a metro station is located on a nearby corner.

The room was well-sized and clean. There was an included breakfast served between 6:30 and 10:30 (I believe) which was a great window for eating early and getting out to explore, or sleeping in from a late night carousing. The staff was very friendly. The amenities were as expected and had no issues.

The only down side, as stated in another review was the noise level. This area is very busy, very early in the morning. So around 5:30-6am you will begin hearing trucks and workers beginning their jobs at the local establishments. If you like a very quiet place to sleep or tend to sleep in then there are more hotels off the main streets. However, if you need a well located hotel with nice service and rooms then book here.

Room Tip: If you can ask for a room away from Calle Atoche, it will probably be much quieter.

I stayed at this hotel last week, while in Madrid to see the Pissarro exhibition. Besides being perfectly located for the museums in Paseo del Prado and the authentic restaurants in the Lavapiés district, it is a very efficient hotel with comfortable rooms.

Room Tip: They have rooms for smokers if you wish

This was a very nice hotel in a great location. Just across the street from the Metro and a short walk to the Atocha station. Very close to many things like the Reina Sofia and Caixa Forum, and a short walk to the Reitro Park and Botanical Gardens. Excellent central location. Take the Aeropuerto Express bus if you're flying...only 20 minutes and 5€ for the trip. Easy access to Atocha through the plaza at Reina Sofia with lots of restaurants. Nice modern hotel...fast elevators, good service, and good price through Hotels.com. Highly recommended...will stay there again if I return.

We booked a room for 3 adults and were upgraded. However with hindsight perhaps it was best to decline. At first we were very pleased with the room but it was on the corner of the street and right next door to a very noisy night club. The noise starts at about 12-midnight and carries on until turning out time at about 6am. The visitors to the night club seem to spend a lot of time in the street smoking, drinking and making a lot of noise. It's no wonder these room stay empty until the last minue. So query where your room is on your arrival. The hotel is convenient to the train station and metro and the staff are very effecient and helpful. We will have a room at the back next time!!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are very noisy due to nightclub on the next corner.
