I stayed in a junior suite with two levels. Modern and stylish design and feel. Two flatscreens and an incredible bath and shower. Service at the hotel was top of the line - from front desk to restaurant. Enjoyed several relaxing hours at the outdoor patio. Well worth the stay. Highly recommend.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel before venturing out into the rest of Spain. To be honest, due to jet lag and an overnight flight, we spent a lot of time sleeping in the hotel. That being said, we were very comfortable and enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. The rooms are large, clean, and a great value.

Furthermore, the location is central and perfect for exploring all of Madrid. Further positives include free Wifi, friendly staff, and next to Retiro Park. We easily fit 2 adults and 2 small children (3 year old and 1 year old) comfortably in the room.

The second time we stayed at Hospice Madrid was as good as the first - great location (across from Retiro Park and a great bakery, Harina, walking distance from the Prado Museum, but quiet enough) and an excellent facility with all the extras. The staff were wonderful and all were fluent in English. You won't go wrong with this hotel.

We have recently returned from a week's break at the Hospes Madrid. This boutique hotel is situated on the busy Place Independencia but is an oasis in the centre of the city. It is within easy walking distance to all the major attractions, and opposite the Retiro Park and the Calle Serrano is literally round the corner with the best array of beautiful shops I have ever seen in a city!

The hotel is efficiently run - we did room only as there are many coffee shops close by for breakfast so I cannot comment on the breakfast provided. The rooms are extremely clean and well furnished, with huge, VERY comfortable beds and all facilities.

I would add that the shower room is integral to the bedroom which was fine for my husband and I but if either party preferred privacy......? The spa is a little disappointing and to be honest, the day I used the steam room I felt quite unsafe being a female alone there as the whole gym/spa/pool complex is a bit of a rabbit warren - there was nobody there to supervise so I would be wary.

The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient - water or cava on arrival if we wished. The tapas bar at the front of the hotel served wonderful tapas and some very good Spanish wine - great at night to sit and watch the world go by. Overall, this was a great base to explore this wonderful city .

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and had a lovely quiet room. Our daughter was on the fourth floor in a roo...

Hospes Madrid is a true gem in the city. Very well located facing the beautiful Puerta de Alcalá mark. Bedrooms are decorated in modern style and very confortable. We found this sweet welcome treat with spanish ham, gazpacho and cold beer when we entered the bedroom. Room #208 has a cinematographic bathroom and the largest sort of amenities I have ever seen. Small, decent pool, gym and sauna. Breakfast is very good and offers a bit of everything. The restaurant outside, in front of the buiding, is very pleasant with a limited, yet very good menu. Beautiful lobby with many stylish ambients.Nice staff. Would definitely stay there again.

I found this hotel disappointing. Location near Retiro Park is good, and it is near exclusive shops, but this did not make up for significant shortcomings. Some of the public areas are tired. The two rooms I was allocated both faced small internal spaces with zero view, minimal light, and certainly no sunlight. There are several rooms like this on each floor meaning there is a high chance of suboptimal accommodation. Certainly not a 5 star experience.

Room Tip: Demand one with outside windows.

Just returned from a 5 night stay in the lovely Hospes hotel in Madrid.
Lovely room, with walk in wet room, rainfall shower, and modern bath.
Very quiet, despite being in the Prado district, all major sights are within walking distance.
The staff were very polite and helpful.
We thought there was a hidden maid in the room, as every time we had a shower ( and we had lots!), the towels were changed. Room was kept lovely and tidy.
Can't recommend this hotel enough.
Highly recommended
