Just returned from 3 days there in room 405. It was a corner suite & both rooms were large with high ceilings & huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The weather was great so the sun beamed through & made the view of both squares perfect. The room was so nice we couldn't resist room-service breakfast at the huge dining table. The food was great (although not that cheap). We also ate in the restaurant one evening & again the food was great. The bars & restaurant were very popular with locals & tourists alike. the buffet breakfast was OK but no menu for cooked items was available but eggs, etc are there - if you ask for them.

The location, as all reviewers noted is excellent, with an abundance of great bars & restaurants close at hand - in every direction. Shopping, museums, parks & great architecture are also readily available on foot.

On the negatives, the room looked a little tired in places, slightly grubby counter tops & a bulb out that was never replaced & a cupboard door that was unhinged. The entertainment system particularly was out dated & the speakers shot. The whole system, in both rooms was difficult to master. The only other slight disappointment was the bath tub. It wasn't a hydro-massage tub as listed but a 3/4 size tub with a flashy shower over. The room itself was large & very well equipped.

The major problem was with the bedroom lights. On our last night they switched on several times throughout the night. Really not conducive to a good nights sleep. We thought about calling to report it but didn't imagine they'd have a technician on site on a Sunday evening in December. When we informed reception they were well aware. Obviously this is an on going fault.

The reception staff should get a mention, as they were always great. Couldn't help enough & had great suggestions for restaurants.

On the whole the good out-weighed the bad. But probably €400 a night a tad excessive for what we got.

Room Tip: Go for a high up floor with a view.

I have stayed in Me@Madrid for the last 12 months - I think that should say it all! The staff and management go over and above what you would typically call good service, taking into consideration all of your requirements - and exceeding them!
This is by far one of the best hotels in Madrid and I seriously recommend it to anyone. Make sure you visit the roof terrace for a pre dinner drink.. or for the whole evening :)

Room Tip: 4th floor is my favorite (and the quietest)

The hotel is in the heart of Madrid , the area is very calm and all the restaurants and the places to visit are within walking distance. The rooms are a little bit small especially around the bed, but the bathroom is large . I was in room 332 with no view but at the same time very quiet to have a good sleep in a comfortable large bed after a long day .The hotel is very clean , the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent . If I visit Madrid again I will stay without hesitation in the same hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is its Great Location, you are in the heart of Madrid with all places to visit at a walking distance.
When we arrived, My husband & I went for a walk and we were surprised once we reached one of the site seeing on our list and as we continued walking we kept going through all the places on our list :)
The staff of the hotel is very helpful and speak English fluently. The room was very comfortable, clean, modern with a very nice view. Next to the hotel if you turn right from the main entrance you will find a frozen yogurt shop called llaollao it tastes amazing :)
I highly recommend this hotel

The best thing about this hotel is its location where one can walk every where and it also offers free wifi.

On arrival there is no porter waiting outside so you have to go and ask for help with your luggage. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern but I would not describe it as uber cool or exciting.
We had an energy room with a balcony. This was supposed to be the best room before a suite. It was small, uninteresting, not nice décor. Yes, it had modern lighting but did not feel special in any way but the bed was very comfortable (no iPod docks as per their web site) The en-suite bathroom was in fact a small shower room with only soaps and shampoo provided. . The magnifying mirror in the bathroom could not be reached unless you were 6ft tall!!

The breakfast was very poor. Bad service, awful buffet, no menu to choose extras from .. you always had to ask... what eggs? do you have pancakes? what is the cooked breakfast? nothing too difficult but it was here!! very disappointing. The eggs they served were awful. Unfortunately, we could not get out of the breakfast package (breakfast 22 euros each ) even though it was very poor.
We discussed our disappointing breakfast with the very nice manager Jose and at the same time mentioned the lack of amenities in the bedroom. He told us we only had to ask for any extras such as shower caps, cotton wool etc. (which we did) - as there was no room to put them!! To us these are basic necessities and should not have to ask AND don't want to keep asking.

The rooms should be turned down in the evenings and this was only done once during our stay - more complaining! Even on day two, after asking reception as we were leaving for dinner to make sure that it would be done that night - it still was not turned down when we returned at midnight!

This was supposed to be a nice break for us. We took 3 rooms for 3 nights and spent 1900 euros and were not sorry to be leaving as we were fed up with asking for things all the time!

After a delay upon arrival at the airport, we finally arrived at our home for the next 3 nights and how happy we were with our choice! From the moment we arrived the front desk team made us feel so welcome. After a quick & informative check-in, we were in the lift and on our way to room 407. The room type we reserved was a MODE room and a fantastic choice for a weekend away! The room had plenty of space and with more amenities then the average 5* hotel suite from Plasma surround sound TV, DVD player, IPOD dock and plenty of choice in the fab ME Mini bar! Never mind the amazing bed where you really do have to pull yourself out off each morning. The bathroom was perfect and we had no problems with the Shower as others have mentioned previously. The view from the room was right across the Plaza de Santa Ana outside and we could not believe how quite it was at night or early morning especially at weekends. When we arrived in our room, Jose Arenas the Aura Manager had arranged a bottle of Cava/ birthday treat for me which was so nice and beyond his duty! A sign of the level of Hospitality this hotel offers. The lounge/bar area of the hotel flows in the Ana Santa restaurant area creating a beautiful urban style space, great for relaxing with friends or a lazy Sunday on one of those super comfy sofas! The service can be a little hit/miss in the restaurant, although l don't think this a reflection of the hotel itself, it is more because they can get very busy due to it popularity with both locals/vistors.. The food served compliments the surroundings, but a must is the Tuna & Avocado on toast or the mouthwatering Marinated Cod tapas!! WOW! The location is perfect, we walked everywhere within 15mins max and if you did need a taxi, the rank is outside the hotel door, so you cant get more convenient then that... Would we return to the hotel, without a doubt! Would we recommend it to others, no question! Thank you to Jose & his team for a wonderful weekend. 5 Stars all the way, other hotels in Madrid should take note.

Room Tip: Save up and splash on a Mode room or higher grade
