Great location with great service. Ask for a silent room and you´ll spend a perfect night.

I stayed here for 8 nights this month (June). The staff was great - friendly, patient and helpful. The location of the hotel is within very easy reach of the Royal Palace and the Opera, as well as lots of nice cafes and cervecerias. I would definitely stay here again.

Suites 33 was much cheaper than most other places in Madrid, so I was a little dubious - but I needn't have been.

The rooms are very large and comfortable. They accommodated my request for a quiet room. A previous reviewer said they didn't have utensils - but the reception staff told me we just had to ask. Breakfast isn't included, but there are loads of places to breakfast out with the locals - but mich more fun that going to their sister hotel up the road.

Location - its just near Plaza de Espana and Santa Domingo metro stations, but we walked mainly. It was just 5 mins to the palace and another 5 to the plaza mayor. The area around Plaza Domingo is surprisingly vibrant and there are loads of bars and restaurants around there.

Staff are excellent, good size room, clean and good location. Don't bother with the breakfast they suggest at the hotel coloso up the street. Not worth the 10 euro.

Other than exiting the Plaza de Espana metro in the wrong street (there are three exits!), the location of the hotel was excellent, 3 minutes walk to Metro, however you could walk past the hotel and not know it was there but that was the only downside. Hotel Suites 33 rooms very comfortable. Kitchen utensils not included (microwave works) but need to bring own plates, knives, forks, spoons etc if you want to eat/drink. No kettle for making tea - microwave will heat water. However, no tea towels or washup cloths. Will need to buy/take these with you.

Suites 33 in Madrid surpassed my expectations. As someone who has not traveled extensively through Europe, I heard that hotel rooms are often smaller, dirtier, and less modern than hotel rooms in the United States. Suites 33 was a pleasant surprise as it contradicted those notions completely!

The room was spacious, with two double beds pushed together to form a single large bed. Our unit had a kitchen, complete with an empty refrigerator, stove top, microwave, sink, and plenty of cupboards. The only small part of the room was the bathroom, which was a bit cramped, but serviceable and clean nonetheless.

While not 5-star modern, the room was fairly up-to-date. It sported a small flat-screen TV (with channels in English, French, Spanish, and German), marble floors, an updated bathroom, and a small balcony. Also nice was an easy-to-use personal safe; great for stashing away our cash Euros. (Madrid is known for pickpockets, so this was a great way to minimize our cash on-hand each day).

The staff at the hotel were very friendly, and always greeted us when we entered or left. Most spoke great English. Housekeeping did a nice job each day tidying up the room daily.

Lastly, the location is fairly convenient. It's on a small street near the Plaza de Espana and Calle Gran Via. It's a short walk to many centers including the Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol, La Latina, and other areas. The street has a few grocery stores on it, and an excellent Middle Eastern hookah and tea restaurant.

Only two downsides. One is that the street itself can be a bit noisy late on Friday and Saturday night, but that's likely true anywhere since Madrid parties late. Two, the free WiFi internet at the hotel is spotty at best. Don't plan on going online much, if at all here. Bring a smartphone! Considering we got the room for about $120 (US) a night, no complaints here.

If I'm ever back in Madrid, this is where I'm going!

Room Tip: Definitely go for a room with a small balcony!
