ice size room and bathroom for the price. Microwave and electric stove top, with sink and cupboard space (stove appeared to be inactivated). Other amenities included room safe, hair dryer, flat screen tv. Enough closet and drawer space for several days' worth of clothes. Convenient location just a few dozen metres from Plaza de Espana, and close to Santo Domingo metro station. Very pleasant from desk staff - Sara (at desk mornings and afternoons) was especially helpful. Air conditioner in the room was a little weak for the heat of August. Would consider staying here again, but am not sure about a stay during the hottest part of summer.

Stayed for 4 nights in August 2013. Great service at the front desk in English, perfect location (Gran Via and Plaza Espana, beautiful short stroll to Royal Palace or Temple of Debod), and quite neighborhood. Plenty of space in their standard double, nice bathroom, and good air conditioning. Only problem encountered was the dank smell that seemed to permeate the entire building. We considered asking for another room, but realized that we wouldn't likely be able to avoid it. My uneducated guess is that they had some plumbing problems, but whatever it was, it was formidable. The wife and I are troopers and we just dealt with it, but it definitely turned this gem into a average stay.

Great little hotel very close to everything.
Easy to get to by subway - take a maximum of five minutes to go there. Walking distance to the major Gran Via, the Royal Palace , shopping and the Latin Quarter . Lots of dining options in the area.
We got a corner room which was huge with large closet , large bathroom and kitchen ( there was no plates, pots or anything, but a functioning refrigerator). A nice room, but nothing special.
Wifi worked fine and in general there was nothing to complain about.
Nice and helpful staff who spoke excellent English. Would choose this hotel again.

We will strongly recommend this hotel to all my friends if they visit Madrid.
Location its great, walking distance to everything you could need. Most importantly, the rooms are well sized, with clean and modern bathrooms. We stayed at room 51, last floor, and noise was not an issue.
We came early at 10 am, and they let us check in after the early flight

I found Suites 33 on a visit to Madrid last year, and stayed there again last week (July 2013). Located just off Callao square, it is very convenient for the Royal Palace and all city centre amenities. The rooms are very fresh with modern marble floors and bright decor. Most importantly, the rooms are well sized, with clean and modern bathrooms. Rooms to the front of the hotel benefit from balcony views. The kitchenette area is adequate - personally i don't see why anyone visiting Madrid would want to cook in their room, the city's restaurants offer tremendous value for a capital city. The room mini bar is very reasonably priced and there are in room safes for personal belongings.

The staff are very friendly. While breakfast was not included, i was given a token to purchase breakfast @ €8.80 (all you can eat buffet) at the neighbouring El Coloso hotel, which was absolutely fine.

Free wi-fi is also a great bonus.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for young travelllers/couples looking to explore Madrid. I think it would also be adequate were i travelling on business. Very reasonably priced and in a great location.

Muchas Gracias Suites 33

Room Tip: Rooms to the front benefit from balcony view. Noise is not an issue anywhere in the hotel.
