Stayed here for 3 nights while in Madrid. Convenient location near Plaza de Espana and close to the Julia Travel office where tours and day trips to Segovia or Toledo depart from. The main street, Gran Via, is around the corner and attractions like the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor is within walking distance. Front desk staff was friendly and always greeted me. Spacious and clean room; modern decor. There are bars and clubs nearby so it can be noisy until dawn as Madrid is known for their nightlife.

This was a great place to stay for us in Madrid. We had a large room that was very close to a large amount of shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a buffet breakfast avaialble at a sister hotel just 50m up the road. Loved it.

We stayed 4 nights and were comfortable with the room and amenities. A little sparse by US standards, but it worked for us. We loved the location and lots of places to choose from for coffee and breakfast. The metro was very close and easy to get to all the tourist sites. Front desk staff was good natured and could answer most of our questions.

Large room, great location near a number of metro stations (Plaza de Espana and Santa Domingo). Lots of small shops nearby for buying essentials. Police station down the road makes the area feel safe at night.

Ridiculously cheerful reception staff.

We took the nearby buffet breakfast at the sister hotel which was perfectly functional and well priced.

Very handy for the palace (which we visited the day the King announced his plans to abdicate).

As others have mentioned, this hotel has a good location about 5 - 10 minutes from 3 different metro stations. It's about a 15 minutes walk to either the Royal Palace or Puerta del Sol shopping area. The street the hotel is on is relatively quiet. the rooms were very large, with lots of marble used to adorn the floor and bathroom walls. The room had a separate kitchen area with a refrigerator and microwave; there are several local supermarkets a minute away to stock up on food/drinks from.

We had a balcony on Leganitos St. which you could walk out on. This proved useful to cool the room off at night. We were there in May and it varied from being a bit warm to a bit cool. Unfortunately the heating/cooling system cannot be switched from heat to cool or vv. as it is controlled by the front desk. So you may have to either open the balcony doors to cool off at night or request some blankets from the front desk.

The hotel was reasonably priced. The front desk staff always friendly and helpful, and spoke good English.

A few negatives. The walls are very, very thin. In our three nights there, we had two nights being entertained by a very loud snorer. The last night we had a flamenco guitar player serenading us. I just so happened to have an app on my phone called Rain, Rain (free) that generated enough background noise to allow us to sleep. Highly recommend you have that whenever you travel. Also the beds are ironing board hard. This is great if you are a starched shirt; otherwise you may feel like one when you wake up.

We stayed 3 nights at Suites 33 during our long weekend Madrid. We booked this hotel based on the good reviews on Tripadvisor and we were very happy we did. A few day before traveling I send an email to the reception because I noticed a bad review from a guest who was booked over to Hotel El Coloso, a sister hotel a little further down Calle Leganitos. Apparently there was some problem on the 5th floor. I immediately received a reply that our room at Suites 33 was confirmed and that it was an incident. This gave me great comfort and a really appreciated the service. When arriving at 11:00 our room was not ready yet, but we could store our luggage. We started to explore Madrid for a few hours. At 14:00 our room was ready. We had a choice between an street-side room or an inside room with a view on a smal courtyard. We took the inside room because maybe there would be more noise in the street-side room. We were glad we did. We did not hear a thing during the night. The room was spacious for a room in the centre of Madrid. It had a complete kitchen with a fridge and a micro wave. No plates were present, but we knew we could ask for that and it was delivered to our room. The bathroom was very clean, only a bit small. Because we had an inside room, the window was small and therefore the room was a little dark, but overall it was a great room. The location is perfect. We took a metro from the Barajas airport, which is only a 20/30 minutes ride. Take line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios and then line 10 only 4 stops to Plaza de Espana, it is only 5 euro per person. Suites 33 is only a 3 minutes walk from Plaza de Espana and one block from the Gran Via. The Royal Palace and the Catedral de la Almuneda is 5 minutes and Plaza Mayor is 15 minutes walk. We even walked to Parque del Retiro, which is 45 minutes walk. There are several supermarkets in the same street, which is convenient. Reception staff is very friendly and helpful. We do recommend Suites 33 for a visit to Madrid and we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Suites 33 multiple times and were always very happy, that's why I did a prepaid booking for 2 nights (Fr-Su). When we arrived early Friday morning the receptionist affirmed that they had a problem with their 5th floor and that we had to be rebooked at their other hotel Coloso just a couple of steps way ... supposedly higher standard (4 stars) and as a "goodie" breakfast included (I couldn't care less about breakfast, always skip it anyway). Sorry, but I've stayed at Suites 33 and I can tell Coloso is an old run-down hotel, where I'd never stay if it was my choice. Double bed size 140cm compared to 180cm at Suites 33???? Where is the upgrade???? Then compared prices on the hotels' websites and found that Coloso is much cheaper than Suites 33 (e.g. Mar 28-30 Coloso is 193.50 and Suites 33 is 227.79) ... but no money back was offered to us??? In essence we paid in advance to be downgraded! Definitely never again!!!
