The location of this hostel is great. It near Plaza Mayor and it is not far from the airport. It is also near a metro station. The hostel is clean and it has a good connection of Wifi. The price is also reasonable and the host is helpful. I would stay here again if I go to Madrid next time.

The location of this hostel is top-notch. It's right near Puerta del Sol and you can walk to practically everything. All of the major transportation hubs are around the area as well. For us, we took the Airport Express bus from Barajas to Plaza de Cibeles. From there it's about a 15 minute walk.

The hostel is actually on the second floor of a building, so at first glance the entrance looks pretty sketch. There was construction and renovations being done on the first floor when I arrived, so it was pretty gross, walking through crumbling bits of wall and dust.

The inside is rather kitschy and the decor is sort of comical. Greek statues and such in the main areas, every room has its own theme; ours was the Taj Mahal. Fair warning, the people who work at the hostel speak extremely limited English. Enough to get you settled into your room and explain the keys, but I wouldn't ask them for more than that.

The rooms are very very small, but they are well-appointed and they have a lot of nice little amenities, like a fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee packets. They even thoughtfully provided two bottles of water and a map of Madrid, which came in handy. Our stay was very satisfactory.

That being said, I probably wouldn't stay here again. It was okay for a couple of nights, but any longer, you really want to be somewhere more comfortable.

You can't beat the location. It is right there off the main square, Sol. Despite that, there was hardly any traffic noise and we were able to sleep incredibly well. Facilities are shared but bathrooms always seemed to be available and one never had to wait. The room was a bit small, but that was a small trade-off for being able to stay walking distance from everywhere. Staff were friendly and the place has a nice laid-back, very Spanish charm to it. Great value for money, would stay there again.

The hostal is situated on the second floor of an old building, just a minute or so away from Sol station (for both Metro and RENFE light rail) and about 25 minutes of Atocha railway station. There is a large supermarket in El Cortes Ingles off Puerta del Sol within 5 minutes walking. All around are fast-food restaurants and more up-market eating establishments.
My room was quite small with a bathroom/toilet partitioned off from the main room; both had tiled floors. There was natural light to the main room and it had a small balcony, but not for sitting out.
There were two single beds, one bedside table, a writing desk and chair. There was little storage space, nowhere to hang up clothes properly or drawers to put things in. However, there was a refrigerator; also, provided was a kettle and coffee and tea. The bathroom was small with a half-size bath and shower; there was a hairdryer.
The hostal has free wi-fi, air-conditioning that was quiet and the inevitable flat-screen tv. There is a small lounge with a computer that residents can use. Currently, there is no lift. Keys were provided to access the building and the hostal late at night.
No proper reception, but the owner is friendly. I thought the provision of tea and coffee a nice touch.
Although it displays a TripAdvisor award, I wouldn't want to stay here again. One night is more than enough!

Amazing location, very clean room, small balcony, clean new towels everyday.
Just what you need for 3 or 4 nights in Madrid, well recommended.
Just the person that attented us Naomi, was not very friendly or helpful, besides that, I will recommend it right away!

The rooms are small but make very efficient use of space and are very comfortable. As others have noted, it's really close to the Sol Metro station an Plaza Mayor. Easily walked almost everywhere, including Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofia museums. Owners are really friendly and helpful.
There is a little street noise, to be expected from the neighborhood. Restaurants nearby closed at a decent hour and after that it was quiet.

Room Tip: Due to a mixup, the first night I was in a single with shared bath. It was a little dark and tired l...
