We stayed at this hotel in May of 2010 as part of a conference held at the CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) research facility, which was held just a few minutes walk away. The hotel was extremely nice, featuring a very new, modern, contemporary style of architecture and interior design. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and all of the staff were very professional. They even let me print out my paper before the conference free of charge!

We had very lovely, delicious buffet breakfasts with all that you could hope for and more, and the evening meals were also nice, though having just come from Andalusia, not quite as lively as I had hoped for. The wine selection was good, but considering the scale of the hotel, I had hoped that they would have had a few more of our favourites rioja, ribero del duero, manzanilla sherries on the menu. The room was ENORMOUS, and could have hosted an entire family. It was overlooking the street, which wasn't horribly busy, but I would prefer rooms away from the street. The only other issue was that the location was a bit remote from downtown Madrid. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone attending an event at CSIC, or large families that need an affordable accommodation in Madrid, but if your aim is tourism for a single person or couple, I think you might like to consider another location.

Room Tip: I'm not sure if this was an option or not, but I would try and get a room away from the street.

I stayed at the Eco Alcalá Suites for 2 nights while on business at the CSIC research facility, which is 3 minutes away. The location was perfect for me - but as previous reviewers have noted, it's probably not ideal for travellers who want to be in the middle of things in the city. That said, the metro is only 10-15 minutes'walk away, and it's a great, fast, frequent and reliable service.

The place is sleek and stylish (think Ikea plus), and my room (203, at the front) was huge, with separate zones for cooking, living/working and sleeping, plus a small bathroom with a power shower, which was excellent while I was in it, but flooded the bathroom every time, thanks to the corroded rubber seal on the door. The kitchen area is also more limited than I'd understood from the website - microwave & sink only, small plates, cups & saucers, no cutlery. The fridge doubles as a mini bar. The v swanky coffee maker looks lovely, but at 2€ a pop, I didn't try it. Despite facing front, the room was super quiet - internal walls are pretty thin, though the other clients were very quiet types, so not a problem.
All in all, I enjoyed my stay, and although I didn't spend a lot of time there, I'd certainly return. The free WiFi is a bonus, and was fast and reliable.

Myself and 4 colleauges recently stayed at Eco Alcala Suites whilst exhibiting at IFEMA.

Our rooms were huge and very spacious! Each room had bathroom with a power shower, small kitchen area with fridge and coffee machine, a sofa and table, desk area, television, 2 bed's and there was also bedroom space upstairs consisting of another 2 beds and a television.

The room was clean, although the bathroom could perhaps have benefited from some redecoration due to the wall outside the shower being continually soaked with water.

The hotel reception were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile.

The hotel is a short walk to the Ciudad Lineal metro station, from where the city centre can be accessed within 15 minutes. We found the metro to be safe, clean and very efficient.

The breakfast had a very limited choice of cereal, meats and bread and perhaps was not worth the extra money that we paid for it.

Overall the hotel is great value for money and we also had free access to wifi which was an added bonus for business travel.

I would stay here again for business or pleasure.

My family and i stayed at this hotel for one Night. The hotel worked perfectly for us because of the Big room, we are a family of five, and we were very comfortable. Also very good value. The decor is a little used in places. The pool is small but it was wonderfull to have in the summer heat! We also found a couple of very Nice bar/restaurants near by. Would stay There again.

Stayed with friends to celebrate a birthday. Chose the hotel as have used the Eco brand before.

Really pleased with the location half way between the Airport and Central Madrid, Metro line is at the top of the road and is only a few mins walk to the hotel. Regular service and the streets locally felt safe.

Hotel is well kept and staff are friendly, breakfast is fun if you don't speak any Spanish as the staff on duty most days didn't speak any English, but the food was good and the outside patio is nice and cool whilst still sunny to start the day.

Room was a fantastic size, no bath but really powerful shower and cool tiles throughout, we had a family room, two beds and a sofa bed really plenty of space.

Madrid is a great city and this hotel is great value if you don't mind a little extra time on the metro into the city centre, you get more for your money just outside in this little gem.

I spent many weeks at this hotel mainly due to its location very near to the office. Due to the size of the rooms and since some have a small kitchenette it is perfect for families and group of friends and excellent base to discover the city. The staff is very limited but friendly. The furniture is modern, IKEA style, but the decor is well done. Rooms have huge windows, however some of the ground floor rooms can be very noisy due to the proximity to the street.
The hotel has a small swimming pool on the top floor which is open during the summer, and the terraza with bar&tapas on the ground floor which is quite nice during the warm nights.
The breakfast is the negative point on this hotel, is poor on diversity and quantity is outrageous and most ingredients are not fresh.
Overall is a good base to explore Madrid (15min walk to metro station), very quiet area during the weekend (it is mainly an office area), near "parque de molinos" for some good walking in a green park and with some good food options nearby.
