It is located slightly off the center of the city, on the middle of a very steep slope and on the 3rd floor-(by their count its 2nd).
Unfortunate for us the subway servicing the area is in repair so we have to get there from the bottom of the hill. it is quite a challenge for us (all 3 of us are small), especially with a wheel of one piece of our luggage damage on flight and my daughter with one ankle barely healed from an accident 4 months prior. We should have taken the taxi, but the map indicate its about 15 min. but it did not say we have to negotiate a steep slope.
It is fine once we settled in.
Sarah is nice but she has to rash out so we did not have a lot of communication. She is very responsive in getting a repair man to fix the busted bedroom light.
the property is of good size, but none of the furniture is comfortable, there is no storage drawers/ cabinet.
The dinner room and living area is good size but extremely poorly lit, One cannot read or write in the area in the evening/ night, I tried with all the lights on, no deal. The lighting is no better than having 2 candles in the room.
The kitchen is big and reasonable bright, there is no microwave but we did not do much of cooking.
The bathroom is very well lit and big, but you have to walk up 4 steps to the bath-tub and practically jump down to the tub (about 20inch tall) there is no rail on the wall for getting into the tub. Maybe one should sit on the step and turn into the tub? I did not think about that at the time and there is no shower curtain, so it become slippery after your shower.
I am well passed my middle age but reasonably fit / flexible for my age but I was scared that I may fall getting in/out of the bath tub.
Overall, its is a nice location, most sites are within walking distance, great for younger folks with artistic mind.
If Sarah can install a slip bar in the bathtub, put up a shower curtain, have a standing lamp in the dinning/ living room area, upgrade the sofa/ chairs, add a bedframe and a dresser in the bedroom, It would be perfect.

The bathroom is got a tall dinner table but 2 short chairs, one baby size chair and a step ladder kind of stool, a futon sofa (without stand), so it is on the floor, 2 wood arm chairs and a corner piece of sofa.
We found this apartment last minute when our actual booking was cancelled due to the unresponsiveness of the other host. As we were quite desperate that we would end up without shelter during the San Isidro weekend in Madrid, the communication with Sarah was a true blessing. She answered our request very quickly and also all the additional details concerning the arrangement were done quickly. As a host, I don't know how she could have been any more welcoming and helpful than she was.
The apartment itself was located very conveniently in the center with all the sightseeing locations being in walking distance. It has a very homey feeling and we had no problems during our weekend stay.
There was no problem with the refund of the down-payment afterwards, the whole experience was exactly what you need during a vacation. Without stress or problems. Overall, we hope we were respectful and acceptable guests because that's what a host like Sarah deserves.
Thank you very much once more for the accommodation, I can only recommend it to anyone else.
