Taking a cue from Tripadvisor, we went and search for this little restaurant. Knowing that the price will not be cheap, we started with some high expectations. With high expectations, the outcome was a lot of satisfaction as well.

Environment: Cosy, warm, and delightful. Well decorated.
Access: Easy to find.
Food: Awesome. One of the best we had in Spain. The pescado soup was great. Tapas was great. Main dish with the chicken was awesome. Selection of wine is good as well.
Service: Despite that we did not speak Spanish, the people here were very helpful. Great service.

Do not miss this if you are in Madrid.

This is a good stop for a tapa crawl. We haven't had a "meal" here, just tapas, but our friends who live in Madrid say meals are awesome as well. Try to stand near the bar to watch the people and the staff, good entertainment.

We've been going to this establishment for years. The food is always consistently good, although it has become rather pricy over the years. Service has always been great. Trout is delicious. Great portions of pimientos padron, calamari, artichokes, mixed platters etc. We love to hang at the bar and watch the food go by and try new things that look good. Not fancy, but good food.

A few years ago the concierge at the Palacio recommended this bar/restaurant. The food is outstanding! The pollo anjillo is fabulous and the house salad is great. All the food is authentic and very tasty. The staff is extremely friendly. None of the other restaurants within blocks can match their food! I prefer eating outside which costs a little more. Try the almond cake Santiago for dessert....

We went on a Thursday night as part of our Tapas Tour with InsidersMadrid (highly recommend it) and then went back last night for dinner with the family (on a Sunday). Thursday was so fun because we were new to Madrid, it was lively, we had a tour guide. We had the red wine, peppers (1 in 10 is naturally spicy), adobo (swordfish), croquetts, tortilla de patata, grilled red peppers, bread, and the Iberico ham. It was all very good. Great service (they love our tour guide, Joanna).

When we returned as a family of 4 we ordered mostly the same dishes and a salad. Some of the magic was lost since we didn't quite have the lively atmosphere of a Thursday or our wonderful guide and connections, but the waiter was very attentive and helped us remember what we'd originally had and sitting outside is always so fun and refreshing for us Americans.
