My last day and I wanted some nice olive oil to take home and after reading about this one in the guidebook I realised I was very close to it - also very near ( just round the corner from) the Museum of Romanticimo.

They have some very expensive olive oil but also some at reasonable prices

This shop boasts an amazing range of high quality olive oils, that is the "Virgen Extra" variety which is the oil from a cold, mechanical only pressing of olives. It has from little bottles for travelling, to big cans all the way through beautifully packaged prized olive oils which can make a wonderful present.

With the largest production of olive oil in the world and literally hundreds of small producers, very often in the form of cooperatives, it takes a specialty shop to be able to really appreciate that. The visit also allows you go get to know a few of the many varieties of olives and their different tastes.

The shop is run by an NGO which aims to promote the Spanish olive oil and prices are reasonable. You can find them cheaper elsewhere, but also easily more expensive. And nowhere are you going to get the selection or advice you can get here. Regarding advice it's true the shop keepers can sometimes be a bit distant, and their English is a little poor, but if you are patient and appreciative you should be able to extract some good recommendations suited to your tastes or those of your potential present-recipients.

Beware it closes in August.
