We wandered into Dudua as it is just around the corner from where we are staying and we hoped that we might have found a gem on our doorstep. It was quite late around 11pm but that is nothing unusual in Madrid. The staff were very attentive and helpful although as usual in this city there was no high chair available for our son.
I ordered baby lamb chops and my wife had 3 textures of cod.
The lamb was well cooked but unusually seasoned which gave a smell that turned my stomach a little. The cod dish came on a long narrow plate with three compartments. Three textures of cod turned out to be three lumps of barely cooked cod doused in different sauces. There was a spicy picante sauce which was fairly pleasant, something buttery and finally a green sauce reminiscent of something you would blow into a handkerchief.
The intention seems to have been something different and creative but the reality was more like inedible. There are so many good restaurants in Madrid (try da chuchuffo's a short walk away) that there is simply no reason to give a second chance to providers of a bad meal.
