In the lovely city of Murcia, there are many different dining experiences....some of which I have reviewed here. However, for me, there is one experience that stands head and shoulders above others, and Salzillo is it.
On our last night in this part of the world, our friends and I decided to return to Salzillo.
I had forgotten just how good it is.
We sat at the counter, in my view the best location to see what is going on in a restaurant here in Spain.
David, our waiter/bar person greeted us warmly. We declined the offer of looking at menus, instead opting to let David recommend some tapas and raciones.....wise decision.!!!!
Pulpo, bean stew, roasted vegetables 'a la plancha' were superb.
These were topped by a beautiful poached egg dish, with mushroom, truffle oil and cream.
The Jamon Iberico served here is simply the best I have had anywhere.....expertly cut and not over-oiled. We finished by sharing a fabulous Angus steak, cooked to perfection.
We shared some lovely wine from Jumilla and a few beers.
If there is a better dining experience in Murcia than in Salzillo, then please let me know, because I haven't found it!
