“You need a local to find this place”

By myself I would not have run into this location. But what a nice restaurant it is. The interior design is beuatifull, the open kitchen is very inviting and the exposed fresh seafood, meat and vegetables look yummie. I went for the solomillo as a main which was a very nice peace of meat. the service was impecable as well. And the prices.. very reasonable for what is offered. Would certainly go back

“Dissatisfied..”
Reviewed 20 January 2014 via mobile

First of all, I have to point out that this is a review for one of the best (highest rated in T.Adv.) restaurants in the city of Murcia. Secondly, I am Greek, used to fresh food, Mediterranean cuisine and fresh fish, so maybe part of my comments are for Murcian cuisine in general. We went there on a Saturday for lunch. The place is packed so, if you to be served on a table you definitely have to make a reservation. We where seated on a tall table in front of the bar. No starters where served instead of bread (instead of those seated on tables). We ordered the fresh salad, some shrimps cooked in garlicbutter, the "dorada a la sal" (fish cooked in a shell of seasalt) and salmon "a la plancha".
Salad: okay... Some slices of tomato cucumber, a green onion, an asparagus, the heart of a lettuce, a boiled egg and two tiny pieces of tuna. @7.50€
Shrimps: they were "free" of their shells, almost tasteless, 7 or 8 in number...@10€
Dorada a la sal: very mediocre. Without taste at all. No seasoning at all, tasted like a boiled one. It was served boneless BUT the waiter, in his effort to clean it from its salt and skin he destroyed it. It came as a pile of fish meat. Some pieces from the fattest part of the fish were also undercooked. Garnished with a bite of potates and a (one) small pepper @10€
Salmon...well cooked juicy. Nothing more. The same garnish@10€
Total paid 44€ includes two beers.
Conclusion: When you enter a place, supposed to be the best in Murcia and you see at the bar, the same ensaladilla rusa, the same ensalada murciana, the same marinera, alcachofa, jamon, cheese etc etc the only chance for you to vote it as best among the others ( including the university's cafetria which has at 75℅ the same menu with this restaurant) is it's main dishes. When you get disappointed from those dishes too, you are left with the question: how can this be the best? What more is offered in this particular restaurant that makes it the best. Is this all Murcia's cuisine has to offer?

“Great experience of spanish food indulgence”

Must go. Atmosphere is great and decoration is well done. The only negative point is the location and the neighbourhood is not engaging.

“nice typical Spanish restaurant”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

The only reason i leave 4 and not 5 is because my boyfriend and I had disagreement about the food. I loved the food - he didn't like it that much (and we shared so we ate the same thing). I guess it is a matter of taste and preference.

Nice atmosphere, tasty local wine (we both agreed on this!), the service was good too. There was one water whose name i didn't catch (sorry!) but he was very nice and friendly and attentive. The others were ok and more busy than interested in bringing you quality service.

I can say it's a typical restaurant where locals come as at 9:30 pm, the place was packed. We were first to arrive at 8 pm when the restaurant opened and for a little over an hour, you couldn't find a table and there was a waiting list!

I think it was a bit pricey. But it was worth it. I found the place looking for a romantic restaurant for dinner - i gotta tell you there's nothing romantic in this place. Although it was nice, it really isn't romantic - a typical Spanish restaurant with many tables very close to each other; you don't have much privacy :-)

Ad one more thing - it says it is open for brunch, lunch, etc. - but when we passed the previous day around 2 pm, the place was closed - so no lunch. And when we went for dinner at 7:30 pm - it was still closed. so we had to wait until 8 pm. So, what i am saying - don;t trust what they say about being open all the time - it is with the typical Spanish working hours - after 8 pm in winter.

“First class - not to be missed”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

Full of locals, who were delighted to advise and share their opinions with us. We never made it to the main courses the tapas were just too good and too tempting.
