If you are tired of the chaotic bars serving pintxos, try this restaurant. It's on the first floor, so you won't see it from the street.
The receptionist at our hotel recommended it, and although it was practically full, the very kind hostess managed to fit us in.
You can choose from a variety of 3-course set menus which include half a bottle of wine per person for around 28 euros, or you can choose from the carte. I recommend the "shared" starter, as they bring a sample of four dishes, so you can taste more items (the croquettes, fried ham with bechamel were lovely). There are some straightforward dishes, such as steak, for the less adventurous, or local dishes. such as the cod stew which was delicious.
The quality of the food was good, as was the price, but be careful, some of the dishes have added costs if you have the extra items, such as a sauce with the meat, although they are clearly stated on the menu.
