The Meson del Caballo Blanco is a hidden gem near the Cathedral de Santa Maria Real. Please take the time to find this beautiful spot ! The tapas were fresh and wonderful. The view was magnificent and it was so peaceful and quiet. It is like you are sitting on top of Pamplona ! All you can hear are the birds and you get a great breeze up there. Don't miss this beautiful place !

It is in the old part of the city over the stone city walls and overlooking the outskirts of Pamplona. You can enjoy the peace and quiet in this beautiful spot sorrounded by history. and have a nice coffee or a beer at the same time. Worth it!

This was rated #7 by Lonely Planet from their list of 32 things to do in Pamplona (http://tinyurl.com/dyv98jd). Yet I did not know of the restaurant until I accidentally came upon it after walking past the old part of Cathedral de Santa Maria Real. (Once you arrive at the courtyard in the back of the cathedral, go to your left and walk onto Calle del Redin until you reach the other side.)

I was there in April 2011, not 2012 (TripAdvisor only allows you to select a 'when did you visit date' within the last 12 months), and with the exception of some unsightly construction machinery, the view was great. The restaurant preserved a lot of the architecture and details from its time as a church, and the breeze of the open air was really refreshing – a perfect compliment to the delicious food and scenery. I ordered the salmon marinado y vinagreta, which came with some type of diced pickle layered on top. If you like salmon, you should definitely order this! I was there during the mid/late afternoon, and it was busy but not too noisy. There is also space surrounding the restaurant if you just want to sit and relax.
