“Thank goodness for Man U vs FC Barcelona”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014 via mobile

Our hotel recommended this restaurant to us. Luckily for us, they had an available table due to people preferring to watch the Man U vs FC Barcelona game that night instead of eating. Lucky us, indeed! The staff definitely took care of us. The sommelier provided us with some fantastic glasses of local wine from Navarra. Our waitress was excellent even with our poor Spanish. And the food was fantastic!! My wife and I had the winter vegetable stew as a starter. While we had that, the manager brought out some samples from other parts of the menu (white ham with black truffle and roasted Navarran peppers). Both of those were so good. If only we could have fit another two courses!! They also gave us this wonderful red wine salt with local olive oil that combined with their bread was so amazing. For the entrees, we ordered the salt cod with lobster and the roast suckling pig confit. Wow such flavors!! The suckling pig was especially impressive as they reconstituted the pork confit into a steak that they roasted. Oh . . That crispy pork skin!! It was fabulous. The desserts looked great but we unfortunately had no room left. What a great meal that was. It was only after the meal that we realized what a great restaurant this was based on the other reviews and what an opportunity that we had lucked into just because of this football game.

Thank you for giving us your opinion. Our team works very hard in order to our guests feel good in our restaurant. We use quality vegetables and food, and we have a large wine list. Thanks again.

“Fine Navarran cuisine for a price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

In contrast with the unsightly exterior, the interior of Alhambra looks classy, a bit outdated perhaps. Seemingly, it is a popular restaurant amongst the Pamplona's well-to-do as most tables were occupied during the lunch hours.

The first course of truffle pasta was OK although too heavy and too creamy for my liking. The main dish of wood pigeon in red wine sauce was delectable. Unfortunately the portion was rather small. The dessert of cheese ice cream was good too.

The service was correct without much smile as you could expect in such a venue. The bill was steep: we paid including a bottle of mineral water and one glass of wine around 105 Euro.

“Delightful”

Expensive but extensive choice and first-rate quality. Very helpful and attentive staff - even to the free cocktail served by the manager while the taxi waited! Well worth a visit!
