A place worth visiting. Beautifully restored with views to die for. We called in a couple of times for a drink with friends and relatives who were equally impressed
Unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to eat there but menus looked interesting and innovative.
Staff helpful and knowledgable

We will certainly visit again next time we are in the area

We had passed the inn sign many times as we live in Gloucestershire and decided to check it out for for a bite to eat at lunchtime if they had outside eating. The location is fantastic with a good view of our lovely Cotswold countryside. The greeting we received when asking for a table was pretty off-hand from a foreign female & another non-brit girl was also pretty abrupt when attending our table. A guy, possibly French, was excellent as was the food wine & beer and overall service. We only had a snack from the very attractive menu & the home smoked salmon was probably the best tasted. One might exclaim"how can they charge that?" when seeing the prices. Our experience was of very high quality food excellently prepared. Shame about the waitresses.

Room Tip: Book a table

Have just returned home after dining at the feathered nest, I think average customers would be put off by their prices but this just allows them to attract people who appreciate good food and don't mind paying for it. Their menu seemed quite small however this allows them to go the extra mile, there wasn't one thing on the menu that I wouldn't eat. The chocolate soufflé dessert was fantastic, not too rich and there was plenty of it. The staff were great and each one was chatty and gave their own personal touch. The drinks were great and the sommelier was obviously very knowledgable. This is a special place to eat and as a local customer it's so nice to get away from the tourists and have a place to yourselves :) thanks !

Wonderful location, wonderful food,.. But.. Rude, prentious and highly over stressed staff. The culture of this organisation appeared tense with all the staff almost running to each table, even though they weren't really that busy. Twice the staff ran into my chair, without an apology and one staff member dropped a huge tray which made all the guests jump! A great disappointment overall especially as the food has a 5* price tag... Be nice to your customer's.. Pleases!

We know the area well and had heard rave reviews of the Feathered Nest.
The location and views were stunning, especially on a nice sunny evening. We do not get many gorgeous sunny evenings in the UK so wanted to make the most of it, although i think the management would have preferred it that we stayed inside by the looks on their faces , when we asked to sit outside on the chairs and tables at the back of the Inn!
Initially as we arrived another large party arrived, we had not booked but the manager said that he would sort us out a table.... no mention of a long wait! He said he would come and find us and bring us a menu , after 20 mins waiting outside, we went back into the bar area, the manager brought the menu to the table and told us due to the table of 10 he would not take our order for a further 20 mins until their mains came out...... We waited for a further 40 mins and nothing, no staff came and spoke to us , no offer of even a bread roll!
As I went up to pay for our drinks and announce that we were now leaving and could not wait any longer, he did apologise and gave me a card and told me to book next time!!
Had he told me in the first place that they did not have enough staff or the kitchen was running to its capacity with a table of 10!!!! Then we would have left and tried it another time. There was just a total lack of communication, which is quite unfortunate for someone that is running a public house/ restaurant.
We were considering this venue for our Wedding next year however after this experience I won't be going back!

One night stay en route to Scotland. Delightful interior and terrififc staff (one exception the lady who served us at dinner - very deadpan, no smiles, little chat). Food excellent.. Our room was large, beautifully and comfortably furnished and overlooked back garden and menage. would definitely return.

The Feathered Nest is everything you could possibly want from an English country inn (even though the owner, Tony, is actually Dutch!). Lovely, romantic setting including views of two hugging trees on the grounds. A roaring fire in the oversized fireplace. A cozy bar area. Four well appointed but sensible rooms. Great food, inspired on traditional English dishes but pushing the envelope with pleasantly surprising results, and a creatively stocked wine cellar.

But most of all, the staff is what really makes the difference here. Warm and inviting without being over familiar. Really makes you feel at home. We had a magical weekend here with our family and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: the cuckoo's den is great. ask for that :)
