We called in for a pub lunch this week, the place is beautiful with stunning views from the patio. The staff are very efficient and attentive. Unfortunately this is we're it all changes the food we had Haddock and chips, was probably the most lack lustre we have ever been served, for half the price would still rate poor. The batter was very greasy and the fish was minuscule, the chips normal brought in variety for 16.95, we expected better.

I've been to a few pubs and restaurants for Sunday lunch and there have only been two who have actually blown me away. One was the Jam Tree in Clapham, London and then this one.

The food was epic, we had the suckling pig, and the service was incredible. We were staying in the Cotswolds and on our way home so came here. We live an hour and a half away from here and we would travel that far for this roast dinner.

Don't even get me started on the great views and the dessert. The best dessert I've ever had.

Great !!!

Stayed here for three nights this month and found it a really pleasant place to stay. The food was excellent but should be at the price, but worth it if you like good food and lovely surroundings. The room we had was quite small, but spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom with free standing tub. all the staff were very good and the breakfast waitress so nice-also super breakfast in a conservatory overlooking the garden and meadow beyond. Will return soon I hope Well done all

We'd previously had lunch here with some friends and thought it was so good that we went back to stay for my partner's birthday. We stayed in the Cuckoo's Den - the only downside was that the bath is almost impossible to use even if you are very agile. If you really want a room with a shower and a bath we were told that the Pheasant's Nest although a smaller room was better.
Dinner was almost perfect (service & food) and the only slight disappointment was that the interesting souffle wasn't quite set. Breakfast was very good with a good choice. When we talked with the owner at breakfast we found out that as a resident you can walk over the large and beautiful grounds - unfortunately when we stayed it was raining very hard.

Very large car park.

We stayed 3 nights from 15th to 18th May in the Pheasant Nest room. The service food and room were perfect. The location of the hotel is idyllic with far reaching views over the Cotswold countryside. It is also incredibly peaceful with just the birds singing as you wake. It's also a great location for touring the area. We will be back

We had a trip to Oxford and I wanted to go back to the Cotswolds before heading home. I only like to stay in places that are "special" and I did some research before booking here. Promise kept. If you want to explore the area then they have ample parking and it is convenient to a lot of what draws tourists to the Cotswolds. If you like great food (far above the typical British standard) then the breakfast here is good, the wine is great, dinner service is lovely and when I (after living 30+ years in Seattle and so use to really great Pacific halibut) didn't fuss but didn't finish my undercooked piece but ate all of my other courses...they didn't say a thing but upon checking out the next day, they had adjusted our bill. I almost hate to publish this review as I don't want them to become too popular and lose what makes them a truly special place

We stayed here for a night and everything was just lovely. It's easy to find and a nice big car park. The room was spacious and had coffee making facilities, toiletries etc, and a lovely big bathroom with free standing bath. The bar is very cosy and the bit off of the bar is reserved for residents by the fire. The staff were all very friendly. My only wee gripe is having to wait 45 minutes for the menu to be given to us for dinner. We were seated quickly and drinks orders taken swiftly, but no menu. I asked after around half an hour and the waitress said that her manager would bring it over, so its a funny little set up really where the manager has to give you the menu and take the diner order...... The food though was really good. I had a delicious potato and garlic soup followed by succulent ribs. The breakfast in the morning was nice, cereals etc to help yourself too and a coked breakfast choice. The view is really gorgeous, unfortunately it wasn't warm enough for us to sit out there, but in the summer it would be heavenly. All in all a really nice place to stay - but give your guests a menu within 45 minus please, its just too long.
