“Cheap & Cheerful!”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

We booked to stay here for 3 nights as we only wanted a base whilst in Benidorm. The room was clean, tidy and functional. The air conditioning worked well as well as the TV (not that we used it) and there was also a safe in the room which you could hire for 2 euros a day with a 10 euro deposit which you got back on vacating. The bedroom and bathroom was lovely and clean with complimentary hand soap and shower gel sachet. The man on reception when we arrived was most helpful and offered to move us to another room if we thought the room was too small. We didn't move as the room was adequate for what we wanted. The hotel was quiet and we slept well. We were on the main road side of the hotel and thought the cars and traffic would keep us awake but the noise calmed down after 8pm and when we came in at night it was very quiet. The hotel is about 5 min from the beach and 1 min from all the shops. Great location.

We booked 2 Rooms at the Pension La Orozca for 3 nights for the beginning of September 2013 and it was OK.

The hotel is very central and only a couple of minutes walk into the old town and beach.

It is a very basic hotel with minimum facilities’ and could do with a complete upgrade. But saying that it is reflected in the rate we paid, and it was clean and everything worked and the staff were polite and friendly.

They have a no visitors rule in place which is weird, but guess it cuts down on strangers in the building.

It had free WIFI throughout which was great.

Surrounded by loads of shops etc As I said very central. The view from the balcony at the front of the building is of a multi story car park, but hey, I didn’t book this place for the view.

All in all if you are wanting to spend more of your Euros on other things than a bed for the night, this place will be great. If you want the whole lobby, swimming pool, bar effect, somewhere else is your best bet.

A little tip re transport to the Alicante Airport. Instead of paying a taxi about 80 euro each way. Just wander up to the bus station and catch the express airport bus. It leaves on the hour every hour and costs 9 Euro and only takes 45 minutes (same time a taxi would take) Very comfy air conditioned bus too. (bus station is about a 15 minute walk from hotel, or a 5 Euro 5 minute taxi).

We stayed from 20-26 August 2013 in room 414. We were able to check in approximately an hour before 14:00, which helped as we arrived from Alicante airport after 12.00 (shuffledirect via FlyBus 5/5). Staff spoke English and explained hostel policy clearly. Hostel has small lift to access higher floors, coffee machine, snacks/water vending machine. Room was not too big, but very clean and with excellent sunbathed terrace with a table and two chairs. It had air con and little tv with remote, towels were replaced daily, bedding sorted etc. Floor was also moped as we stayed. Bathroom was also spotless. The room we stayed in was located to the rear of hotel and was also very quiet during day and night. You can ask for a WiFi code at the reception for the duration of your stay - it worked very nicely in the room (streaming youtube videos in HD etc.), unfortunately it did not want to work on the terrace. The location is excellent. There is 24/7 convenience store opposite the road where you can get basic things, for proper shopping there is supermarket in the shopping centre area in the old part of the city (7 min on foot). Beech is about 4 mins on foot. If you wish you can buy lounger for 4 euro + umbrella for another 4 euro - for the whole day. Expect to pay cash everywhere, most smaller shops and places where you can eat do not take cards.

If you do not need a luxury hotel, this is a perfect place to stay.

I seldom stay in this type of hotel but what a pleasant surprise the Orozca turned out to be. Friends invited me to join them for a couple of nights away - a spur of the moment jaunt. They had found this hotel in the TripAdvisor Review section. We got a great deal and were pleasantly surprised. All eight of us agreed that we would stay at this hotel again.

myself & my 2 friends stayed here for 9 nights. its in a good location in the old town, beach just at end of the road, there are countless eating places around but the little chicken place nxt door was great with cheap food and amazing tapas, he does breakfast items as well. there is a vending machine in reception which is also handy. only bad point was the free wifi was a pain!! having to log in and out all the time.. the staff were all very pleasant. we went for a curbing holiday and the English square is around a 25 min walk or 7 euro in a taxi. all in all great place. would definately go here again.

As per all the other reviews this is a very basic hotel but very clean with friendly staff. We had a family room which had 4 single beds, a large wardrobe & plenty of drawer space. The bathroom consisted of the usual with the shower over the bath plus a bidet. You can use the safe located in your wardrobe for a small deposit plus small daily charge. All the bedrooms have air conditioning too which was a bonus. Vending machines are in the lobby if you require drinks or snacks but there is no shortage of cheap bars nearby to visit, with 2 immediately across the road. Our room was situated at the front of the hotel, which overlooks a busy main road but we didn't find it too noisy - my parents also had a room but there's overlooked a side street & the noise outside their room during the early hours woke them! This hotel is excellently located and does what it says on the tin, if you literally want somewhere just to sleep then you can't go wrong here.

Here is an honest review in a nutshell..my party consisted of 2 x 61 year olds 1 x 17 & 1 x 18yrs olds t rooms..1 front & 1 back of Hostel...first impression...greeted by lovely air-conditionned foyer..friendly english speaking reception staff..secure room for storage of cases...security cameras everywhere monitored 24hrs even in the lift giving us a sense of us and our belongings being and feeling safe and secure. Rooms were not as expected...they were better...bathroom..my number one priority...spotless!! white towels tiles..floors..spotless! bedding white v.clean sheets again room v.clean. Airconditioning included in room price...and in full good working order..furniture basic but ok..curtains all looked new..safe in room at 2€ per day if required with €10 returnable deposit (not tatty safes..these looked new and digital) forget terraces...basic but in our opinion theres so much going on outside its not on our top 10 list this Hostel is located on a busy street and has bumper to bumper traffic at most times of day and night double glazed patio doors keeps some of the noise at bay..if this is a problem..book a room at the rear of Hostel..but views are over a back street...i preferred front. Location deserves a 4 star status just turn right onto street you are just 3 mins away from the busy Old Town of Benidorm and its lovely shops and bars next door and oppt Hostel...banks..lottery...newsagents...cafes..bread/ cakes...roast chickens for takeaway and the list goes on oh! almost forgot..v.important and a bonus...the taxi rank is just a minutes walk from the entrance....caught a few and paid nothing over 7€ even well into the early hours well think thats it..What did I say about
"in a nutshell"??? so if you are looking for..basic..clean...dont mind to much traffic noise....you cant go wrong Ann B
