“Amazing location, shame about the service!”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

The first thing to say is that we really wanted to give these apartments a good score but the service we received on the first two days of our holiday meant we had to mark it down. The Las Carabelas office (where you collect your keys) is only open 11 til 1 and as far as we were aware, the neighbouring hotel Mont Park had the keys out of hours. However when we arrived at 2pm, Mont Park did not have the keys and didn't know when they would receive them so all the could recommend was for us to keep checking back. We ended up stuck with our heavy case and traveling clothes for a few hours in the heat. Eventually we picked up the keys from Mont Park only to be given a letter that stated the one bedroom apartment we had booked was not available till tomorrow so we had to sleep in a studio for the night then pack up and move again in the morning. With the office being closed we had no one to talk to about this, so a friendly Spanish caretaker in the building recommended us to go to the Costapart office (a 15 minute, 1km walk away on Av. de Filipinas) because they helped managed the Las Carabelas. Good job we knew the area because a first time visitor to Benidorm would have really struggled to find it. The Costapart office knew nothing apart from what was simply written in the letter and told us to go to the main office in the morning to be told what to do next. Let's just say we didn't sleep well that night because we didn't know whether we'd be stuck with our luggage again for hours until out new room was ready. The Scottish guy in the Las Carabelas office was actually helpful and gave us our new keys straight away to be used after 2pm and let us keep our old keys so we could store our luggage for the day. All the stress and uncertainty really did dampen the start to our holiday.

On a brighter note our new room was lovely! Clean, bright and spacious! You feel really safe in the complex because of the area and the locked gates to get in. We loved the views of the beach and the air con was a life saver! The location is amazing, quiet but still really close to restaurants, shops and bars.

Would we stay here again? Without the first days drama, we would have said without a doubt yes, as the apartments are lovely! If we did decided to give the Las Carabelas another chance, we would definitely time our flights so we arrived within office hours or late enough to guarantee that Mont Park would have the keys. We'd have to cross our fingers that they wouldn't double book our room again too!

my mother, my friend and I stayed in these apartments in july 2011 for 2 weeks. the apartments were fantastically located, couldn't ask for better with them having a gate out onto the beach front, they were adequate for the 3 of us, but i would not like to try any more in the 1 bedroom apt. and was very secure with the locked gates. the carabelas failed on some accounts though,

-tiny kitchen, self catering isnt the best option there
- no balcony. this was inconvenient and didnt help when it was too hot inside, made it feel more stuffy, the included air con unit was helpful though.
- our keys did not work for the car park when I had rented a scooter which meant I had to park it on the street
- shared a pool with the hotel across the road, which had very few british people around for some reason, mainly germans, which meant there wasnt much socialising to be had around the pool.

however if you can get a good price on these, and dont mind those small inconveniences then I say go for it and enjoy your holiday. at the end of the day, your holiday is what you make it.

Stayed here last week in a 2b apartment. We were in Block 2 on 14th(top) floor. Views were fantastic & apartment was clean & tidy with all equipment required for s/c. Location is fantastic as adjacent to Levante Beach, next to Burger King. In fact we would grab a morning coffee here & use the free wifi!

Places we visited & recommend include: Levis Showboat(€11 3 courses & free show), Little Devil Bar(€1.50 Koppaberg), Marianos(24hrs, great breakfasts & pizza), China Garden, Cadillac Cervezaria(bottle cava & 5 tapas €5) & Cava Arragonesa(best tapas in Benidorm).

The Vagabond restaurant deserves a special mention as Frederique the chef patron is not only a fantastic cook but a great host & the night here was the highlight of our stay.

We also took in some acts & really enjoyed Tony Scott(comedian), The Fantastics(soul/motown) & Levi G (Showboat).

Albir, Altea & El Cisne Sunday Market where all reached via the no10 bus. All are worth visiting as is Benidorm Circus, which we enjoyed on Saturday Evening.

A final mention is for a bar next to Cava Arrogonesa (forgot name!!), who have a sign up for the best Cuban Mojitos, well Anna is Cuban & the sign is no idle boast!!!

Good points:
- Plenty of UK TV channels
- Amazing view (block 1, floor 14)
- Clean
- Central location
- Quiet considering location
- Near beach

Bad points:
- No balconies
- No swimming pool (although I heard that we had the use of the Mont Hotel's pool)
- No oven in the kitchen, really limits what you can cook, although advertised
- Was told by cleaner that there was no internet although advertised. If you sit outside on the benches you can pick up McDonald and Burger King wifi
- Drains often smelly

Would return to this hotel, although not to Benidorm for a while, and would recommend for a fun weekend in the sun.

Room Tip: Block 1 will have the best views

I felt like I had to write a review after reading some of the very negative points on here, firstly it's a 2 star apartments should be at least a 4 star!! The location is perfect right on the beach with fantastic views of the coast line right up to the old town. We stayed in block one on the third floor and could not fault our apartment the living area was spacious and airy and the air conditioning was spot on!! Yes there is no balcony but the windows open wide and it's lovely sitting watching the world go by with a glass of sangria!!! The bedroom bath room and kitchen are all of a good decent size and clean, we had 4 bath towels and 4 hand towels for just 2 of us and they were changed half way through the week. I would definitely recommend these apartments they are cheap and cheerful and bargain prices!!
