My earlier stay at Rialto in October 2009 was excellent. Food was superb. Unfortunately it had deteriorated on my latest visit at end of Feb/March 2010. The food wasn't even much improved at the two weekends when we were overwhelmed with Spanish guests in parties.

It was very hit and miss whether the staff were there to cook eggs at breakfast, or sometimes at other meals when it looked like the griddle was in use. Trying to get a drink at the bar after a meal, I felt I was almost apologising for asking; often having to go into the dining room to look for staff to serve me. Overall, not as good an experience as before. I will probably try the Pueblo in June. The Calypso's great, but the dancing every night non stop is pretty boring when you've heard the same cd over and over. Would I recommend the Rialto again? I like the quiet in the low season, but the food was a terrible let-down this time, so ??

The main let down of our stay at this hotel has to be the food, it was always half cooked and never warm, with very little choice. And promised entertainment was NIL!!!

Dissapointed Wales.

I would seriously discourage booking this hotel, if you aim to stay for evening meal. The food was always cold/warm, never hot. On one occasion, they served meatballs that were uncooked. Vegetables were boiled to within an inch of their lives.

returned from our first visit to the hotel rialto yesterday we found the hotel generally good and our room to be very clean and modern no complaints whatsoever.its position just further up the slight hill past our usual hotel the los dalmatas was not a problem for us.the 2 for 1 drinks package was very good value and if you are lucky to get a front facing room a bonus (rooms 301,401,501,601, 701 appeared to have a slight sea/beach view) we took our own small kettle and also an hair dryer which unusally was not provided in the new bathroom.
any criticism must go to the food, although our price for full board was outstanding we would have prefered half board with more selection it was hugely second best to the los dalmatas (which has old rooms). the staff worked very hard doing a multitude of tasks to the point when on occasions the hot plate chef was not at his post to cook you fresh meat, eggs etc and when he did they were often rare. it was mentioned in an earlier post that one day the shepherds pie was minus the shepherd which i thought was amusing until i tasted it ! it was most probably the worst tasting potato( mash perhaps?) i have have ever tasted in my life.yes the selection was poor but we usually found something edible. would i return ? sadly i am not so sure.

We have stayed at the Rialto many times over the last few years and always enjoyed the food and ambience at what was a very good hotel. Therefore we were once again looking forward to another great holiday when we arrived in June '09.
After the first couple of days we noticed very quickly a deterioration in the quality and choice of the food available, it was so apparent that my wife and I commented on it after every meal, however, this paled into insignificance with the arrival on our first weekend there of the first batch of stag and hen parties one of each. From the Friday morning to the Tuesday morning the sun bathing terrace was almost a no go area, it was impossible to get into the swimming pool or anywhere round it both parties using this area as an extension of the bar!! with bottles and drunken behaviour for all to see.It was simply impossible to relax and sunbath on a sunbed because of the atmosphere that prevailed on the sunbathing terrace.
On the second Friday to the Tuesday there was a repeat performance of the above, however on this occassion they also took over the small childrens pool which was surrounded by row upon row of full and empty beer bottles and glasses. The hotel obviously made a conscious decision to encourage this behaviour as during both these periods the PA system was brought from inside to outside onto the terrace and the music played so loud that it added to the feeling of unease.
I went to the reception to complain half way through the second groups stay only to be told by the receptionist that there were no stag and hen do's in that weekend, during this conversation there was an incident that occured in the swimming pool that involved some members of the stag party and other guests. The receptionist showed utter contempt for the situation of the other guests and when we said we would not come back here she merely shrugged her shoulders. We talked to quite a number of guests during our stay many of which were long standing clientele of the hotel, all of whom said they would be not returning to the Rialto. One couple told us their parents had been there several week earlier and during their stay the police had been called to an incident in which a member of a stag party had run riot on one of the floors whilst letting off a fire extinguisher. Low and behold on our departure day while we were waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport, there was another incident involving hotel staff and security men as a stag party member was also causing trouble on one of the floors letting off a fire extinguisher. I might add the behavour of the females in the hen parties was as lewd loutish and offensive as any of the young men. We are not bigots or snobs and we expect people to enjoy themselves on holiday we have never tried to impose our kind of holiday on other people, however when other peoples behaviour is so offensive, confrontational and intrusive the hotel has a duty to maintain standards which the Rialto has shown no intention of doing. The company of and the management at this hotel are solely responsible for the demise of a hotel in which it was a pleasure to stay. There contempt of regular guests and lack of standards in the pursuit of a quick buck made at the bar has alienated many of the regular guests. They will not be returning again, we will not be returning again I urge all of you who may be tempted to go there to establish with the hotel first whether or not there will be stag or hen parties there as they do seem to be encouraging them

We were pleased with our choice for 2 days and then all hell broke loose when a group of 30-40 lads from Liverpool arrived on a stag weekend. They took over the pool & hotel and their behaviour was horrendous. We had two nights without any sleep and the security man was obviously unable to control it, but would not call in the police even though people were asking him to do so. This is a small hotel and to accept such a large group of men is not only inviting trouble but for the hotel to have no policy of handling it makes it that much worse. The staff, food and room were all very good but, of course, the holiday will be remembered for having been ruined, and the management's complete disregard for the decent guests, who I'm sure will not return to the Rialto.

Having stayed a great number of hotels in Benidorm, i have to say the food and restaurant service at the Rialto was the worst i have ever encountered.(And i am not particularly picky). Very little choice,(how about fish, ommelette, and pizza EVERY night ?), to compliment either a very poor attempt at shepherds pie (without the shepherd) or some other unidentifiable offerring. All served lukewarm. Plenty of salad if that's what you want to live on for your stay. Breakfast? well, no comment. Dinner times were advertised as 19-30 to 21-30 (strange times anyway) but the dining room rarely opened on time. Once opened, the dining room revealed a group of staff who obviously would have rather been elswhere, and were obviously hoping to be so as soon as possible judging by the way your plate was whipped away as soon as was humanly possible. The rooms, although small were nice, and kept spottless by the maids. This hotel is in a great area, handy for the beach, nightlife etc, just a shame about the food. But that is something that we wont have to worry about again as this Hotel does not feature in any of the Thomson/Portland brochures after this year. I wonder why? Has Thomsons dumped this Hotel or have the new owners Servigroup decided not to cater for the Brits anymore. Seems that way. Either way, we wont be going back, and neither will a lot of other people, judging by the comments that were floating round the dining room.
