“Great location extremely basic accommodation”
Reviewed 5 May 2013 via mobile

Booked a quick last minute 4 day break for 4 of us, wanted beach location so chose this apartment for that reason. Pictures online showed a terrace and quite modern interior, this however was not the case - could not have been more basic, not enough blankets or towels for the four of us, no hot water for 2 hours on one occasion, no plug to fit the bath which again was much older than shown in the pictures provided by the agent Arcadio. We were met on arrival as promised with 2 sets of keys, paid the 10€ for wifi (even though we only booked for 4 days!) then left to our own devices. I did try to contact the agent on the occasion when there was no hot water but his phone was turned off (suppose it was a Sunday). The beds were hard so I found myself sleeping mostly on the sofa with the heating on in a bid to stay warm enough. Will not be staying here again ever, even though the view was spectacular.

We were a family of two over 65s, one adult in their mid 40s and a 14 year old. We've stayed in other apartments in Benidorm previously but went for this one as we ideally wanted a sea view this time around.

We arrived late of an evening and, due to there being no manned reception, we picked our keys up from the Trebol apartments a couple of hundred yards up the road.

The location of the apartment was excellent. It's right on the sea front, and about 150-200 yards away from the strip (with all the bars and entertainment) - you leave the apartment, turn right, cross the main road, walk a few more yards and you're there at the Red Lion. Considering its location we didn't hear any noise of an evening from the strip or from people returning home after a night out on the tiles. The only noise that we heard of an evening was the sea or, occasionally, from one of the other apartments opening or closing patio doors.

During the day there is some noise from the Tiki Bar, adjacent to the apartments, which is a gathering point for people to have a few drinks and listen to music. That said, it wasn't excessive and couldn't be heard with the windows closed. It was actually nice to have background music whilst sitting and watching the world go by from the apartment.

We were on the 8th floor and found our apartment large and clean. The view of the sea was, obviously, fantastic and the apartment had sun for most of the day. We had 2 twin rooms and a single en-suite room. The washing machine was a big plus for us whilst here as we've previously used a launderette for our washing. There was a small tv in the room that had a few English channels (BBC1, ITV, ITV2 and E4, if recall correctly). Towels and sheets are changed once a week.

The accommodation was basic and could do with some modernisation. We did, unfortunately, have a few niggles that did disappoint us a little (but were relatively easily overcome/fixed):

1. The apartment didn't have any hot water on our arrival as the gas had run out. Whilst this was replaced relatively quickly on our first morning there I'd have expected this to have been checked. I think we may just have been unlucky though.
2. Whilst all beds were made, only two beds had sheets on them (others just blankets) and towels were only supplied for two people.
3. The wifi was very slow and just fast enough to get emails. Web surfing or anything else was quite painful. It is cheap (10euro per week) though and is paid for (along with the safe key) at the agents office (located in the money exchange shop a few doors up from the Trebol apartments - we only found this out by asking around as it was not written down anywhere).

Whilst we experienced no trouble at the apartment, there is no manned reception (as mentioned previously) or CCTV. I wasn't too bothered with this but my parents would have felt more comfortable should there have been some form of visible security late of an evening.

I have been deliberating whether this property should be rated Excellent or Very Good. I think that it's somewhere in between given the niggles. However, as these didn't really impact on our stay I've settled on an Excellent rating.

I would stop here again and would definitely recommend the property to anyone that wants a reasonably priced basic apartment close to the nightlife, quiet of an evening and views of the sea.

We have just come back from a weeks stay here, 2 adults and 3 children under 10. What a fantastic location, right on the beach next to tiki beach bar. We had 3 bedrooms one with an en-suite and a huge dining area with air-conditioning. The views from the apartment were amazing. I would ask to stay in rooms 1 or 2 on any floor. It was really clean and the towels were changed once a week. It is quite noisy of a day but of a night u can only hear the noise of the sea. I would definitely use these apartments again.

We went back on the 28th Feb 2012 for seven more days. The apartment we normally use had just had a refurb, new marble floor tiles, new beds and new furniture, a total repaint also.
The outside of the building had been painted as well.
They were refurbishing all the floors to a high standard.
We arrive again on the 6th May 2012 for 12 nights; It is so mobility organised by the owners.
The central location is excellent; at night time after 8pm it so quiet as most bars have closed, the police go past every 15 minutes, which gives the beach front that extra security.
Just a short walk away is the indoor market and around the corner several supermarkets stocking English products.

Room Tip: Front facing apartments are the best, the sun comes up at 9am, goes down at 6pm; you can either bsat...

Coach Shuttle drops you off outside the Don Pancho Hotel; its just a 3 minute walk to the Torre Yago Apartments. If you arrive after 1400 hrs Keys can be collected at Trebol Apartments, which is on the same street around 5 minutes walk.
On opening the door, the apartment was like a Tardis; Ample sized kitchen with Automatic Washing Machine, Microwave, Gas Cooker and Fridge freezer. Just off the Kitchen was a Small Single En-Suite Bedroom that we used as a Ironing Room. Walk down the corridor to a Central Bathroom with a Full sized bath with shower toilet & bidet. Off the Bathroom are two twin bedrooms. Walk further down the corridor into the Large lounge with Sofa(bed) & Two Armchairs, Large dining table & 4 chairs, a large wall unit full of books and glasses and a Digital Flat screen television with British TV channels as well as Spanish.
Open the French doors onto an Enclosed Balcony(sliding Windows) with another Dining Table & 4 Chairs, another large sofa bed then a Clothes Airer.
THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY IS AWESOME.......................
