We were p[art of a group of 10 children from South Africa that came t Span to play in the Under 10 Annual Costa Blanco Soccer Tournament. Although we generally stay at hotels that offer more than the Poseidon Palace, our stay was perfect. Although the hotel lacked very basic hotel amenities such as baggage porters, charge to room facilities or poolside refreshment or lounger assistance, the stay was acceptable. You get what you pay for and we got clean rooms and a decent meals having chosen to take all meals at the hotel as were part of a large group. The stay was refreshingly different in that one now appreciates extras such as porters to help carry luggage to buses on 35 degree Celsius heat waves, clean pool towels on demand, signing for ice creams for kids etc etc etc. Would I stay here again...Definitely if under similar circumstances. But if just for my family... maybe if part of a fun group. Benidorm is a great town with tons of stores and a great beach front. The hotel is located within in easy walking distance to the beach and all stores. Be prepared for a a lot of fun.

Just returned from a weeks stay and have mixed feelings about this hotel.

On the positive side, the hotel is very clean, rooms, communal areas and poolside are all well maintained. Staff were helpful and it is in an ideal location just a short walk to the beach. I loved the fact that sun-loungers cant be reserved here and wish other hotels would follow suit. It meant you weren't wakened early in the morning with people reserving and re-arranging their loungers before going back to bed for a couple of hours!!

On the negative side the food isn't for the fussy, we went for a week and only ate evening meal there twice. Alot of fish dishes. There is entertainment every evening but unfortunately it is only in Spanish so we were not able to enjoy it as much as we might have if there had been some english translations!!

All in all we did have a relaxing weeks holiday but on the whole would probably not go back to this hotel.

Just got back from Poseidon Palace in disgust of the hostility and rudeness of both staff and residents at this hotel towards the English. Also staff non-attentive as they are too busy fussing their own people. Had to ask for table to be cleared in the dining room several times and they are just not helpful. Entertainment dreadful, room too small, no tea / coffee making facilities, had to hire a fridge. Encountered a 'hot soup injury' and the concern was zero. Had to go to reception myself to have it recorded in the accident book.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone - steer clear folks.

Room Tip: Yeah, don't go !

Having just returned from another stay at this hotel all i can say it gets better every time, situated nr to the old town just 3mins walk to walking street it has to be one of the best value for money hotels in benidorm, the hotel rooms are large having either king sized double beds, queensized singles or twin beds, there is ample storage space having large double wardrobes in each room bathrooms are to a very high standard with piping hot water 24hrs a day,the maid service can not be faulted and rooms and the hotel kept to the highest standards, this included the dining area's,the food we were offered was excellent with both continental and cooked breakfasts being offered every morning, the evening meals were of a great standard always having at least two hot meat dishes two fish dishes vegetarian dishes that was without the fantastic salad bar with fresh meats cheese and pate's offered every night,i cannot recomend this hotel to highly we are booked for 10 days in oct and cant wait,oh and for tho's of you who like to swim the hotel has 3 yes 3 great pools 2 outdoors and a heated indoor pool with jacuzzi, the indoor pool is open from spt till 1st june only but so nice to relax in

The Hotel itself is good, have been to this hotel 4 times now in the last 32 years.
It once had the best food for a hotel in Benidorm in my opinion.
But now it is the worst, had to go out to eat most evenings.
I was on my own so the waiters would ignore you, by not clearing the plates away after each course. And most times you had to stop a waiter if you wanted a drink, where they would go round an ask if people wanted a drink.
The choice of food was limited, and the only meal that was hot was the soup. All other meals were cold or just warm. The reastuarant is ideal if you are on a diet.

this hotel seems to have had a lot of bad reviews mostly about the food.
it's not fine dining but who expects that in Benidorm!
i would recommend this hotel for a brief stay....3/4 nights max.

it's basic but clean and central.
