“Karen from Nottingham Arrival 21 April 2012”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2012

We were greeted to a warm welcome and a glass of champers on arrival which was a nice touch. Our room 806 was fab overlooking the sea with jacuzzi. The bathroom was very impressive, high tech shower which did take us some time to work out but the staff came up pronto to help us out. The plus sides of this hotel are the friendly staff, good food , clean and comfortable rooms and the location. The roof top bar chill area is fab with great views of Benidorm but you need to get in early if you want a sunbed and it is a shame it is only open till 6pm as would be spectacular at night. The only down side is that the pool is small and at the back of the hotel and there are not many sun beds. Also even though we had a mini bar this was not stocked and we would have appreciated some water in the fridge. There are a lot of Spanish guests which could put the English off all I would say is smile be friendly and they will smile back after all is is just the language barrier - you will all be dancing together by the end of the night! Would def go back again.

Had a week all inclusive at the Villa Del Mar and first class hotel it is. The plus sides are, rooms large clean and comfy, food excellent and varied (have put too much weight on), the staff helpfull and friendly. The pool area though small is a sun trap and the top floor sun terrace is relaxing with a drink, although when windy is best to go round the pool. On the minus side there is limited space for relaxing in the hotel around the bar area a shortage of comfy chairs for people to relax after a meal or just during the day. The entertainment room I felt was a bit cold in the decor some colour and subdued lighting could help and again short on comfy chairs.Overall a excellent hotel for your visit to Benidorm as it away from the noisy areas but next door to the old town and its nice bars and restuarants.

if you want stag parties, sticky vicky, brits only and all of the other things benidorm renowned for then don't go to this hotel. If you want a beautifully stylish hotel with lovely staff, great food and branded drinks then this could be for you. read all the reviews and they are spot on. Yes space is at a premium in this area so the pool area at the back isnt great but the beach is in front of you. lots of spanish guests at weekend and a mixture of french, dutch and brits otherwise but entertainment tries to cater for everyone. the staff cannot be more helpful and the glass of cold cava waiting for you on your arrival is a great start to your holiday.click on to all the pics guests have taken as they cover every bit of the hotel.my only comment is that i do agree that the lack of a comfy lounge area lets them down. the bar downctairs doesnt open until 9 p.m. so there is only the area outside to have a drink and if its windy or chilly as it can be early in year there is no where to sit. However you still have to give this hotel ten out of ten for everything else. my tipple is vodka and where else can you have a chouice of smirnoff, absolut or stolichanaya vodka at the bar? we would certainly go back to this gem of a hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view before you go

Just returned from a fantastic four day break with my friends, from the minute you walked through the door you felt at home.
We were on the forth floor and the view from our sea veiw room was awesome (well worth the extra dosh).
We were all inclusive and boy do you get your monies worth, food 10/10, drinks 10/10, snacks 10/10, spa 10/10 service 10/10. The only thing that let it down for us was the roof top bar and terrace closing at 6pm.
Staff were all amazing nothing was to much trouble but if we had to mention names then Aida, Fran, Flavio and the cockney/spanish girl behind the bar (sorry chick forgot your name.
Deffinately going again and I would reccommend this hotel to all my family and friends

Room Tip: Sea view a must!

We arrived at lunch time to be greeted with a glass of champagne,we were 3 couples given adjacent rooms on the 3rd floor with full sea view, the room was spacious and spotlessly clean, our holiday was all inclusive and the drinks were all branded, the restaurant menu all through the week was varied and cooked to a very high standard, the entertainment was different and very amusing at times,
it was my 60th birthday on the day we arrived, when I had finished my evening meal all the staff sang happy birthday and presented me with a cake that had been made by the pastry chef that afternoon.
I have never stayed in a hotel were the staff cannot do enough for their guests, nothing is to much trouble and all is done with a smile,
A TRULY MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE AND WE ALL CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.

Room Tip: ask for sea view if possible

The hotel is very nicely decorated and furbished. It is very modern looking and always spotless. They welcome you with a glass of champagne and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We were swapped to a sea view room on our second day without extra charge, but it is just by luck if they have a room available and it is worth having this view if you can get it.

The food in the hotel is nice and the chefs work hard to ensure that there is always enough. A special mention must go to William the chef who is very friendly and helpful, especially to our children. The food is typical buffet style and what you would expect from an all-inclusive. I would say that the restaurant is quite small for the amount of guests the hotel holds and it is better to go early to ensure you get a table straight away at mealtimes. They do serve drinks to your table and you can get a decent bottle of wine with your meal if you want, which is nice.

The bar area is quite small with not a lot of seating, particularly when the hotel is busy, as they use most of the seating for the restaurant and there are only a few tables available to sit at for a drink. The drinks available at the bar are very good though with branded spirits, such as Gordon’s gin, Smirnoff vodka, Bell’s whisky etc. I do feel there are not enough bar staff when the hotel is busier and the bar staff often disappear leaving the bar unattended which can be quite annoying, but they are friendly enough.

There is not a lot available for kids at the hotel. They have a soft play but it is often unattended and parents are expected to supervise kids. There is a kids club and when it is on it is good for the kids, as they can eat there and allows the parents to go to the restaurant for lunch or dinner and get a break. A very special mention must go to Juan Vega, the barman and waiter. He is very friendly and took the time to talk to us and was great with the kids. He served food and drinks to the kids and entertained them. He really did make our holiday special and it is the people that make your holiday special and he certainly did!

The entertainment at night is often on very late not starting till 10pm sometimes which makes it difficult to enjoy if you have children. Some of the entertainment was good though. You get free Wi-Fi but it is only available in reception or on the top floor, but it would be better if it was available everywhere. There is a heated pool which is nice, but it is small so I would imagine in summer it could be quite difficult to go for a swim there. There are loungers built into the pool which is nice so sit and relax on, as well as sunbeds around the pool area where you can relax. The spa area on the top floor is nice with sauna, Jacuzzi and Turkish bath. The sunbeds there are good, but I would say it is limited and can get busy quickly so it is not always easy to get one.

All in all, this hotel is excellent, the views are good, the food is nice and there is a good selection of drinks. The staff are friendly and do what they can to help. The only thing that put me off this hotel was the lack of space in public areas meaning it can be quite crowded at times. It is very clean and looks very nice and luxurious inside. I would say there are other hotels in Benidorm which would be better for families, but it is certainly good quality and in an excellent location in the old town.

Room Tip: It is well worth getting a sea view if you can!
