My husband and i have just returned from the hotel Calypso in Benidorm, once again from the beginning to the end, our stay was wonderfull.I had e mailed ahead to see if it would be possible to have a room in the annex as this was were we stayed last year and on arrival we were given a room in the annex which was a good start to our holls. The rooms are not large but are more than ample for our ten night stay, there is a mini fridge free of charge, flat screen tv,safe deposit box(payable) and a hairdryer in the bathroom,The annex has only 4 floors so you never had to wait for a lift.we had a lovely pool view and as last year we had the singing cleaning lady that kept the room spotless. The whole hotel gleams, the staff are very friendly .Merche in the dinning room is a lovely girl and always has a smile for you .The food was very nice and tasty and always a good choice. As ive said before this hotels is geared around the more mature client and this is nice.It is wonderfull at night to see elderly people having such a great time.I cannot praise this hotel enough for what is on offer and for the price it is a must.Thankyou to the entire staff it is evident that you all work very hard.

Room Tip: Pool view in the annex

I have just returned from this hotel. Stayed there with my husband and friends. Everything about this hotel was good. The staff are excellent in every department. They are all jolly and very friendly. They all act professionally and the service is the best that I have seen apart from a 4* hotel in Lanzarote. The cleanliness of the rooms is really good, fresh towels every day. I thought the service was excellent in every department. The bar staff were very friendly and very efficient, no waiting around for your drinks and that icludes the waiting service by the pool. The evening entertainment was mostly dancing but that is why people go to that hotel. There was also professional entertainment on most nights at 11:00pm. Not great for everyone but all very professional. The 2 X 1 drinks offer at this hotel really enhanced our stay. Some of the bars in Benidorm are charging ridiculous amounts and the cabaret bar prices are a joke. THe drinks in this hotel turned out to be cheaper than anywhere else and it was all branded spirits, no cheap stuff. Check what you will get in Jokers because the 2 X 1 offer is very limited and you don't get told until you have already bought your drinks. Uncle Peds just across and right from the hotel has some real good offers on drinks, the staff are very friendly and it is a great place to sit at lunchtime. The food at the Calypso was excellent, I cannot imagine how anyone could criticise it in any way. I would definitely stay at the Calypso again.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor at the front of the hotel. We had sun all day long and it wasn't too noisy f...

12 of us (6 couples) have just returned from 2 nights stay at Calypso for my 40th birthday. This hotel is beautiful... Reception staff very helpful especially Elaine (Scottish girl). Excellent choice of food at all times... Some of the waitresses in dining room were not very friendly...

Bar staff pleasant - 2 for 1 drinks on offer day & night (finishing end March). So unusual to get bottles on this offer Budweisers, smirnoff ice, corona....

Evening entertainment was sequence dancing, not our cup of tea, but it was very busy with older clients who seemed to be having a great time.

Pool area massive but not a big swimming pool, it was too cold for us to go in anyway, but plenty of sun loungers.

Would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: our room was on first floor looking right onto Ambassador Hotel

Have just spent 3 nights here and unbelievable value for money. Excellent choice of food at all meals - full board.
2 for 1 offer on drinks at bar all day. Only downside is ballroom dancing every night. A bit more variety needed

This was just a one night stay in order to be able to visit the Benidorm Palace. As we arrived in a coach party the check in was a lengthy business. Passports were kept overnight. Some of the plastic keys opened rooms to which they were not assigned presenting embarrassment and concerns regarding security. This is a large clean hotel in good order. Our room was in an annex accessed by transitting the whole ground floor public rooms. The room was small but clean and acceptable however we would not have wished to stay more than a few nights there. A pleasant private balcony overlooks the pool. Plenty of stowage space for clothes and a good en suite bathroom. No remote control for the TV. Good a/c that provided heat when needed. Corridor outside the room was not carpeted so lots of clicking of heels were heard as the room walls are thin. Not impressed with the restaurant. Breakfast had finished by the time we arrived around 1000. Lunch was a buffet with lots of choices but the quality seemed generally very mediocre. The service was pleasant and cheerful. The bar service was good but the coffee thin and of poor taste. In the 24 hours we stayed at the Calypso we each ate two excellent all day breakfasts in a nearby cafe/restaurant of which there are very many to choose from.

Room Tip: One night was not sufficient to assess.
