Just spent three nights at the Colon Benidorm and was pleasanty surprised. The room was very basic but clean but the balconey/view was fantastic! It looked right over the beach and I just sat and enjoyed the views (when I wasn't out of the room). My firends and I went half board and had a decent enough breakfast; however the evening meals really let the hotel down - to be honest the dinners were inedible. Despite that one neagtive experience I would definately stay here again and the staff were brillaint and went beyond the call of duty!

Room Tip: Definately book a room with a sea view - worth every penny!

My wife and I stayed for a 3 night break October 13. It was our first trip to Benidorm and we were apprehensive, but luckily we chose an absolute gem of a hotel. It is right on the beach and very close to the old town. There are plenty of tapas bars and entertainment nearby, but none of it is too tacky!! If you want Blackpool stay in the livelier new town on Levante beach. The hotel itself is a traditonal Spanish hotel offering continental breakfast and a limited set evening meal (we also had complementary wine each evening). It was very clean and comfortable with friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. The clientele were mostly Spanish, very few British guests which suited us. Absolute bargain for the price as were most of the bars in the area too. Definitely will be returning to this hotel sometime soon. Came home completely chilled and longing to be back in the sun.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the seaview, worth every penny.

We have just returned from our first stay in the Hotel Colon and I am certain it will not be our last. I was apprehensive when booking as despite how lovely the rooms etc looked it was a 2* but these concerns disappeared within minutes of arriving.
We were greeted at reception by friendly staff and then went up to our room. I had requested a high floor and we had booked a seaview but nothing prepared us for the amazing view that greeted us. We were in room 305 which was on the corner and overlooked both Dove Park and the Poniente beach. The room itself was delightful, tastefully decorated and very clean. Bathroom functional and again clean. Some have complained about the beds but we found them absolutely fine and very comfortable.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Just around the corner from the many tapas bars in the Old Town, across the road from the beach, the Headland and stunning church around the other corner and a supermarket about 3 minutes away so you couldn't wish for more.

This is a Spanish hotel and I think we might have been the only English staying at the time but the staff knew us and our room number . I will always remember that we were in room tres cero cinco!

Room Tip: The room we were in, 305 was perfect. I imagine any of the 05 roms would be similarly situated and w...

My fiance and I stayed in Hotel Colon the first week of August and really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is right on the beach and is clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The air conditioning in our room was great as it was 35 degrees outside all week!!

We will come back again :)

Thank you!!

We stayed two nights at the Hotel Colon. It was our first visit to Benidorm so we wanted a good central location. The hotel is literally right by the beach, they claim it is 10 metres! It is very close to the headland which separates the two beaches, and is right in the old town. So we were delighted with the location. We had a car and knew we would have to pay to park it in a public car park, but this was straightforward and very close by. Another time we would not bring a car with us! The hotel is quite old fashioned but in a good way. It seems like an small traditional family run hotel. All the staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Our room was small and fairly basic but it was good value and clean. The breakfast was good, although there was not a huge selection of choices, but what there was was fine. We did not eat in the hotel in the evening. We prefer to eat out. If you are looking for a big luxury hotel with a swimming pool the Colon is not for you, but if you want a good value hotel right on the beach and near shops and restaurants then the Colon could be just right for you.

Just had seven days at hotel colon, perfect location for beach/old town, staff friendly enough, breakfast adequate, usual fruit/yoghurt/bread, maybe some eggs would have been nice. Feel this is a Spanish hotel, lots of elderly Spanish in the hotel, but i find no problem with that, no noise problem even though it's busy outside most of the day/night, room cleaned every day, towels changed regularly enough, all in all a nice stay

Just got home from a long weekend at this hotel, had a great time. the staff are very friendly and polite, the location is the best in Benidorm, in the old town and right by the beach. There are lots of great bars and restaurants very close by. The room was cleaned every day. breakfast was a regular continental one, served until 10.30. I would recommend this hotel, I was very pleased with my stay. great staff and rooms, in the nicest part of Benidorm !
