Hello fellow readers.
Just arrived back from 1 weeks holiday in Benidorm. We stayed at the Hotel Sol costablanca, which we found to be a nice hotel with lovely spacious rooms. The hotel is perfect for beach as its on the beach front. The food at breakfast is plentiful, continental or style to suit most tastes, but soon changed to more spanish style as the week went on. Had to miss a couple of nights and buy out, as it was the same food every night. The walls in the rooms are paper thin and can hear loud conversations, especially the spanish who tend to talk very loud. I had to endure two spanish women have arguments one evening in the next room for above an hour and slamming doors.
On the day of arrival, I was given a single room on the 5th floor which was at the end of the corridor. Immediately, I entered, I heard a noise which would have been a impossibility to sleep. It was a compressor for the main air conditioning for the hotel. The room was a side view to next doors pool, lovely view, but next door also had another surprise awaiting! I changed rooms with difficulty at first, as reception would not play game, and I ended up getting angry to get an alternative room. I changed to a double room on the same side of hotel, same view on floor 4, at the same end as the compressor, but other side of it. Could not hear compressor here, but a night time surprise awaited.
My friend was on floor 4 too, but toward middle, same side.
During the evening we heard terrific noise and shouting / excessive music which was coming from the pub bar on the beach front next door,also ajacent to the side of the hotel. This went on every night until 2am, along with other excessive noise from other noisy bars along the front which carries at night, and there was another bar or hotel on the corner of the side street in front of my balcony which committed noise until 3am, and my last night, till 4am. It was enough to make you tear your hair out, through the stress of not been able to sleep. Ear plugs a waste of time,unless your lucky enough to have industrial ear plugs. I complained and complained to no avail. I was offered another room at rear of hotel at the weekend, couple of days before our checkout, but I refused, as it was really too late at that stage of the holiday to start changing rooms again and time consuming. However, my friend did change rooms to rear of hotel, and jumped straight from the fire into the frying pan with regret. If anyone is considering this hotel, be warned! The hotel is nice and great for the beach. You need to have a taste for spanish food, eventhough there is some various options at evening meals. The location of the hotel for excessive noisy bars is not good, unless you are excessively noisy rowdy drunken brits, who have no consideration for anyone else but there selfish selves.
There were several drunken rowdy selfish brits arrested whilst we were trying to enjoy a peaceful holiday. ITS OUR OWN PEOPLE, WHO SPOIL DECENT HOLIDAYS FOR OTHERS. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR.

Just spent a week at this hotel, was put in wrong room, but it was rectified the next day with an apology and upgrade, excellant service. The staff are wonderful, especially in the bar, great service from eeryone. Rooms were nice and clean, just one critisism, dont like carpets in rooms, would prefer tiles. Will definatley go back there again.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room

Firstly the location is brilliant the hotel is so well placed for the beach and promenade, never be better. However the check in process is so slow with no customer care at all, it was quicker going through customs. When we got to our room the balcony was on the side view with a window over the pool, we had paid extra for the full sea view, we complained and were relocated to the room we should have had in the first place. I never complain but at breakfast time a few of the Spanish guests would leave biscuits or jam on the table and go out returning at the peak breakfast time with so few seats available they were able to go straight to their saved window table, ironically when I complained to the male dining room managers, suddenly they cannot speak English, so I moved them myself and wow the abuse from these ladies on their return. Sun beds as previous reviews have stated were saved at 07:00hrs and we were able to watch the guests returning every day for a week, between 4pm and 5pm, they even put an extra towel on the beds to block them out, this has to be stopped to ensure it is fair for all. Would I stay again probably but only because of the location.

Room Tip: Room 329 is centrally situated.

just returned from 11 nights at this brilliant hotel we are well travelled and would say that this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in hotel,location,rooms,staff,and food were all amazing would love to go back the only thing i was disappointed in was car parking we hired a car for the 11 nights and the hotel were wanting 15 euros per night which i think is a bit steep so we parked in the street . we were in room no 608 and it was so peaceful at night we would ask for this room again i would give this hotel a 5 star and although the pool area is small it was never a problem to get a sun bed.

Room Tip: rooms at front of hotel can be noisy

Stayed at this hotel with my other half for 5 nights bed and breakfast. We had an afternoon flight so didnt actually get to the hotel until about ten at night. The welcome from the young man on the desk was a bit frosty, he talked on the telephone for a good 5 minutes without making eye contact with us on arrival..his first word was "passport"!!!. Not the greeting we were expecting, however undeterred we went to out room and we were slightly dissappointed, we had a the lovely sea view that we booked, but the bathroom and room itself was dated and had seen better days, but was very clean.
The following day we were turned away from the breakfast area because we werent properly attired..my husbands vest was a no no .. although i observed ladies leaving with bikinis on covered with a bit of a see through material. A bit information on arrival might have ensured we properly clad.
The hotel itself is in an excellent location with great views of the sea beach and promenade and is central for bars and restaraunts etc.
The pool area never looked really busy but you couldnt get a sunbed..all were covered in towels from early morning with no sign of any guests.
I did enjoy my trip to Benidorm and if i went again i would probably stay here mainly because of its beach access.
