Having stayed in the Marina before we were expecting little change. True, nothing had been done to the bedrooms or dining rooms but there had been a transformation in the pool area where a large screen dominated and during most of the day and evening featured sport. The clientele was evenly split between Spanish and the Brits. The former were always very noisy but as they hardly ever used the pool the big advantage was that there was no problem in finding a sun lounger at any time of the day.
BUT the big change over a year had to be the noise. The hotel overlooks a square made up of nightclubs, at least one of which had music blaring until 8 a.m. Unbelievable! The hotel stated it was unable to do anything and had come to accept the situation in spite of complaints. The Spanish gentleman in an adjoining bedroom had tried to sleep on armchairs in the corridor with little success. So on one's holiday list put earplugs ahead of sun cream, towels, costumes etc.More
