We stayed here for 7days, rooms clean daily, most of the staff helpful,, restaurant manager very helpful and kind providing a gluten free menu for my son each meal time plenty to go around and to choose from no long queues as other reviews say as long as in early ish, pool outdoor was too deep for adults and kids,, indoor pool a little better for my son, all inclusive deal great value as we had water park and theme parks and dolphin park included dolphin show was amazing... Location is on hill but we expected so was no big surprise .. Bus from hotel to beach as long as have ticket from reception ,, 10min walk to water parks and Mundar teramikita worth a visit too.... Would defiantly visit again

Room Tip: Go all inclusive witch included free access to 3main attraction

Just returned from 10 nights at the palm beach with my wife and 2 kids aged 6 & 9.

Location - on a steep hill about 5-10 minutes walk away from the beach. There is a free shuttle bus that operates until 7.30pm. You need to get tickets from reception. Taxi to water park is €5, taxi to terra mitica theme park is €15.

Food - decent selection. Bit repetitive but I never once was put off by that. The restaurant staff are expected to serve drinks and clear away tables and unfortunately there just aren't enough of them leading to a big queue to get in to the restaurant.

Drinks - nice selection of drinks but again there always seemed to be a long queue. No fault of the bar staff they work so hard. The cocktails were pretty disgusting but the local lager is ok. Wife enjoyed peach snaps and lemonade. Kids can help themselves to ice cream and ice pops.

Rooms - Good size rooms, cleaned daily. We were on the 6th floor, when the balcony door is shut you can't hear anything outside which is good.

Pool - This was the biggest let down of our holiday in my opinion. Its just far too deep. The shallow end is only a couple of feet long then it starts to deepen to the point of around 2.5m. Sunbeds are a chew on to get. Although there are signs saying you aren't allowed to reserve beds people were queuing for an hour to race to get the best beds then nicking off for breakfast. Prettt sad really but it was funny watching them from our balcony they reminded us of little worker ants. There is a lifeguard on duty and the female lifeguard does her job very well..no messing!

Overall - we won't return but we have enjoyed our 10 nights..highlights were the water park and theme park which were included in our all inclusive package.

Rating - 6/10

Got back from a weeks stay here. I was literally dreading staying in this hotel after reading the reviews. Yes, the hotel is on a very steep hill but there is a FREE shuttle to the beach and back so no problems. The pool did get very busy but we aren't the type to sit around the pool all day for a full week, on the 2 days we did go to the pool we managed to get a sunbed so no problems there either. Rooms were cleaned daily. I noticed people on here complaining about queues for food in the hotels restaurant. If you eat early there are no queues anyway. Overall I probably would stay here again as I had no complaints and the people who have moaned on here are exaggerating. People can't expect 5* luxury when they are paying cheap prices

This hotel is not a 4 star, more like a 2.

Food: The food here is not very good we travelled with two children and they didn't eat much, we paid for AI but we ended up having to eat out. The chicken was raw it was never cooked. Chips almost everyday.. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day.. Sausages, bacon, eggs etc. pastries and cereals. The snack options were burgers and chips no crisps or nuts etc.

The hallways were very narrow and hot we would have struggled getting through with a pushchair.

Rooms:
The rooms are outdated. The cleaning was ok, although the floor was never mopped or swept out. And the bed sheets were never changed in the week we were there. We did have clean towels everyday though.

The pool is nice but don't expect to get a sunbed unless you get up early to put towels on the bed. The pool area does get very crowded.

The staff on reception are nice and helpful. The majority of the bar staff are not, but they do seem to be understaffed so maybe this is why. And some guests were very rude to them with one person threatening to through food over them so maybe their attitude is understandable. The majority of staff speak English so this was nice.

There are a few hills to get up and down but they have a free taxi service to and from the beach so this isn't really a problem. The hotel is within walking distance to aqualandia and mundomar which are great days out. I would ideally have stayed closer to the busier side which is down the beachfront but that's personal preference.

As for the entertainment in the hotel we didn't stay around much to watch it but what we did see of it was good. The animation team are great. The kids found lots to do with the pool, and games area. They didn't go to the club so I cannot comment on that.

The hotel had English and Spanish guest and the Spanish guests do get favoured a little more but that didn't really bother us.

For us we wouldn't stay here again. It just wasn't worth the money we spent to stay here.

Travelled as a family of 6 adults and a 2 year old at the end of july.

First of all good points

Reception good and helpful, arrived at midnight and were able to access the dining room for a cold supper where meats cheeses, salads, biscuits, bread buns and water were available.

We had asked for our rooms to be on the same floor high up, this was granted with rooms close together on the 9th floor. Rooms good and clean, comfortable beds and we were happy to find a fridge. Nice balcony over looking the pool. Plenty of bath and shower gel provided.

We found the staff on reception to be very friendly and helpful ringing us taxis everyday and on the day we left when our transfer bus hadn't arrived they rang and sorted the situation out for us.

The swimming pool was good with safe childrens area and the life guard was very efficient.

We had booked the all inclusive fun package which worked out great value being able to go to aqualandia, terra mictia and mundomar by just showing our gold wrist bands, this saved us a lot of money off entrance fees, (this is the reason we actually booked this hotel as its a great offer).
The all inclusive food and drink- breakfast was good, the staff in the restaurant were good friendly and efficient and worked very hard. Waiter service for drinks which was very good asked for a glass of wine and was brought a bottle- very impressed!! Also for beer and soft drinks they would bring you jugs to the table for the whole group. Food at the other meals were ok, we always found something we could eat. The pool bar and the evening bar were very good drinks freely available, didn't really use the snacks apart from getting ice cream.

Bad Points

The safe was in a room near reception, one master key for all the safes and as the safe had to be locked and unlocked with your key and the master key we felt under pressure to hurry up as other people were waiting. The safes were extremely small, fit passports and jewellery however no room for ipads etc. This would put me off coming to this hotel again as we have always had a safe in our room in the past and found this set up rather strange and stressful.

Desserts in the restaurant were awful, same every day and no hot desserts apart from a little bit of luke warm custard on somedays.

Sun beds, Although there was a sign saying you couldn't reserve sunbeds or towels would be taken off, this didn't happen. People were queing up from 8am to reserve their sunbeds and then disappearing until late afternoon leaving the sunbeds empty. (We found it quite amusing when watching from the balacony that when the pool opened at 9am it was every man for himself running for the best location.) On day 3 we joined in for the hell of it!!

The hotel is on a steep hill and the hotel runs a courtesy mini bus service to and from the beach however although we managed to get the bus to the beach the extremely rude driver refused to bring us back as we had some sand on us. So perhaps it should be called a courtesy bus to the beach with no return. He did however offer to take the pushchair which had more sand on it than we did which we found to be very strange as obviously the pushchair was needed to push the child up the hill back to the hotel.
We did find that the number 11 bus would drop you off up the hill near the hotel but only once an hour so we used taxis which were between 6 and 9 euros a trip.

The hotel has a disco which is only open on a saturday night however as they do not let under 18's in we were unable to go because of our 2 year old. We did however have a look in for interests sake about midnight and saw just 2 people in there, what a waste of a lovely building as most holiday makers have children so were therefore unable to go in.

Although we had a good holiday we feel that we wouldn't return to this hotel because we feel the bad points outweighed the good.

Staff were unfriendly. Had to pay €300 to upgrade our room as they put 2 adults and 2 children in a double room and put in a sofa bed. We could not move. Safety deposit box not in your room, in a shared room. Always felt I was rushed as people constantly knocking on the door to be in! Food was ok but the same most days, waiting staff had far too much work to do so we were nearly finished out meals before we were offered drinks. Only 1 or 2 people on at the bar at any time, so with a hotel with over 1000 guests in we were queuing for up to 30mins a time for drinks. Pool is too small for the number of guests it accommodates.

I have never returned to a hotel before but would definitely go back to Palm Beach.
My kids 13yrs & 10yrs had a fantastic time, which meant my husband & I did too!
The free tickets to the parks made our holiday, all 3 were fantastic & we went to them all twice. We didn't have to queue, just flash your wristband & walk on in.
The food is beautiful & you can't get sick of it, how often can you say that about an all inclusive hotel, I never have!
Fantastic service in reception & the restaurant, very well managed.
All inclusive adults can order as many drinks as they like at a time, kids are only allowed 1 each.
A few disappointments were the pool is not big enough for the amount of people there in August. Since they have built the Don Jorge apartments at the back there are not enough sunbeds for everyone although they do have space to put more in!! The Don Jorge has it's own pool (very small) but everyone uses the main hotel pool as there is no bar etc at the Don Jorge.
We had a 1st floor room on our 1st night, DO NOT stay on the 1st floor, request a higher floor when booking & ask for a corner room too, they are much larger & brighter (room 530 was good)
The 1st floor room we had was so small & had 4 beds squeezed in side by side with no gaps, the balcony overlooked the roof of the front part of the hotel above reception, nothing else could be seen, NO view of anything. I went straight to reception & asked to be moved, the girl was lovely, she advised me to wait until the next day & she would book me into room 530, a corner room with good pool view. It was worth it, what a difference!!
No safe in your room but they have a 'safe room' behind the reception area, each safe is tiny but it done the job.
I seen poor reviews about the lifts & queues in the restaurant, well the lifts are slow but it's not a huge problem & the queues for the restaurant could be huge if you hit a busy time! The longest we waited was 15minutes which is bad enough when your standing in a queue for dinner which is the length of the reception area!!! If you go around 7pm or leave it until 9.30-10pm it's fine.
The hotel is a 15-20minute walk to the shopping centre & beach, that's ok going down hill but the free bus service or a taxi is recommended for going back up especially in the daytime heat.
All in all a great clean, friendly hotel with amazing food & we will someday return.
